Anyone ever played Nightshade for PS2?

I just heard about it. Supposedly it's the sequel to Shinobi for PS2. I've owned Shinobi for PS2 like since it came out. And I loved it.

So can anyone tell me if Nightshade is as good, is it worth picking up?

From Software is always referencing their games and characters in other games. 3D Dot Game Heroes has a lot of them, the biggest one of course being the From Cave where they're always talking about Armored Core and Demon's Souls.

Raikoh is in the 360 version of Enchanted Arms as a playable character (as well as Metal Wolf Chaos, which is also a usable model in 3D Dot Game Heroes) too. One of the characters in Ninja Blade is definitely inspired from his character design also.

Great game. One of my favorites from the PS2 era. It is probably overall easier than Shinobi, but also more frustrating. There are some decent unlocks like Hotsuma from PS2 Shinobi, Joe Musashi, one of the bosses from the main game and a few different outfits. There is also a time attack mode where you race against the clock for the highest TATE possible. It's a solid purchase if you are ready to look past the cheap deaths and outdated bottomless pits.

Thanks. As long it's not an over $20 PS2, I'll probably pick it up.

That's right. The reviews of the game was great. More challenge and more unexpected trials to be overcome. Just check it out.

There are also occasions where you take control of kaede, a female ninja, with ninja sword who has joined you in your quest.

Can't believe no one mentioned the TG16 game Ninja Spirit. That game rocks!
