you really just need to set up the graphics plugin (and controller). I've never had to touch any of the sound or drive plugin stuff. I just go in, pick the best graphics plugin for my hardware (I think I can use the sse3 one but can't go all the way to the sse4 one). You don't even have to adjust the graphics plugin settings unless you want to bump up the graphics quality.

oh and a bios, gotta have a copy of the bios from one of the systems lol.

I have no idea what to pick for settings. I'm braindead on that shit.

yeah I did that. And read that guide. First step was setting up the GS plugin. I had no idea how to proceed.

tl; dr: not braindead enough to overlook google / too braindead to follow the guide.

If you can't follow that guide (I followed it no problems) then I don't know what to suggest. That guide is about as straightforward as it gets... :?

first step was to find my video card from another website's list to tell me what versions of two drivers I needed. (What version of pixel shaders and DirectX does your graphics card support? Check this link (thanks to Nachbrenner)
)I found my video card, but couldn't find the answers so... yeah. I guess I'm dense.

That's easy. Tell me what GPU you have.

it's Nvidia, and I want to say 9600 GS sounds right in my memory, but will check when I'm home again.

It's a DX10 card so it's SM4.0. Just select DX10 mode and that's it (you can't change the shader model as it's locked to SM4.0. It doesn't really matter what you choose here though as all cards are backwards compatible. So you could choose DX9 and SM3.0 if you like. It just won't be as fast (it might be worth a try in case you have compatibility issues in DX10 mode).

interesting... maybe I'll continue to dick around with it tonight then. Hopefully you'll be around to answer the rest of my braindead questions.
