PS2 Emulation?
My friend emailed me a video today of him playing PS2 games on his laptop. He did not tell me the emulator or anything, he just stuck a PS2 game into his disk drive and started playing.
Some things I would like to know:
1. Do you guys know what emulator this was, or any emulators similiar to it?
2. I'm not sure as to what games are on PS2, but I must ask what games to get if I do find a usable emulator. I don't want an amazingly large library, just games that can't be passed up. The only games I've thought of so far have been Shadow of the Colossus,Ico, and possibly the Ratchet and Clank games and God of War games.
Thanks in advance, I know I've been overly active these last couple of days, I'm just glad to have found a gaming community that is actually accepting of newer members, other than Neoseeker.

Your friend is keeping it a secret?
Before this turns into a huge emulation vs real hardware debate, let me just ask... Why not just pick up a PS2? A used slim wont cost too much at all, and wont take up much space at all (if that's an issue).

Re: PS2 Emulation?
I was afraid that might be brought up. I don't know that I will get that many games, so I just wanted a simple way to play the exclusive/can't pass up games on the system. I'm personally not a big sony fan either. I just can't use those controllers.
Also, I'm having trouble thinking of games to get other than those already listed. Multiplat titles I would rather get on my Gamecube. (Who's library I really need to expand, I have about 12 games, but I'm selling half because I don't find the games fun.)

Re: PS2 Emulation?
emulator was most likely PCSX2.
I haven't kept up that much with the emulation scene though so I'm not sure if there's something better that's popped up recently or not.

I don't know of any PS2 emulator that's actually usable. Last I heard the few out there will run a handful of select games. But none of them will be a proper replacement for a PS2.

Re: PS2 Emulation?
I looked up PCSX2, and that was it. I'm thinking I don't want to deal with this. It looks like too much work. I guess I'll skip out on those. Is there any other system I can play Shadow of the Colossus though? I really wanted to play that one.

1. you MUST play Shadow Of The Colossus.
2. you can play Shadow Of The Colossus on a PS2 or wait until the PS3 version comes out later this year (hopefully)

No PS3 either though... okay, might have to try this/get a PS2 what other games are good exclusives that I HAVE to try? I'm a friend of shmups, but I want them to be different, because I already have a lot.

Re: PS2 Emulation?
Remember: the ps2 has a HUGE library. It's also cheap now. You're bound to find enough games on it to make it worth your money.

Re: PS2 Emulation?
One question I have to ask is what other options do I have on controllers? I can't stand playstation controllers, they feel too square and uncomfortable to me.
