Re: The worst fanbases
I would have thought something else but after reading this thread, especially the last several pages, I would say Batman fans are the worst.

I agree. They are simply and lack structure and composition.Xeogred wrote:Word, they need more color. Not to say I'm blind and can't tell them apart, but they aren't very distinguishable.
EDIT: Meh, it refuses to work. Take any design actually, they are all a mess after another.

That was my point. The changes in X3 weren't any more prominent than the changes in X2. In fact X1 was the movie that pretty much switched things up to begin with and set the tone for the following movies. X3 sucked on its own merit.flamepanther wrote:Look back up and notice the word "solely". He means that in bad movies where stuff was changed from the source, other stuff besides the changes made them bad. Looking at your list, I'd say I agree with him. Joel Schumacher could have made every detail of every character's history and personality accurate to the source and it still wouldn't have saved Batman & Robin--his directing style is just not right for Batman. Hulk was bad even if you ignore Banner's backstory, and LOOOOoooooong before they throw in that crap about Absorbing Man.
If the movie turns out like crap, then sure. But that's not the case most of the time. Most people agree that Xmen First Class was a good movie (I thought it was ok) but there's still people whining that it doesn't have the same cast of characters as the first class comic. Who cares? The fact that these films are bad because of changes or not is definitely debatable here.
But regardless, I again go back to my original point: We comic fans shouldn't complain about these things? I don't see why we should be happy with crap.

Arkham Asylum for the win, they had the old pros go in and do this. It's funny how Mark Hamill's voice sounds now doing the Joker as it's obvious that it sounds different than 20 years ago because he's aged unless they specifically told him to darken his tone as the Joker.
If anyone remembers Batman Under the Red Hood: Bruce Greenwood did a pretty good impersonation of Batman pretty much as he used Kevin Conroy as his inspiration for the voice. For the Joker in that, the guy that does the voice of Bender, John DiMaggio sounded like a Jack Nicholson Joker which I thought was pretty awesome ( hence, why I think Jack Nicholson needs to reprise his role like i said for the past few posts, my bad on that if I am repeating myself lol )
What I was getting at was that these good movies coming out, if it isn't played by the people from Batman TAS, they use references somewhere else.
When I think of Christian Bale's Batman, I think to myself that he uses intimidation tactics by eating a piece of onion and garlic and starts screaming in their faces to get those fumes right into their nostrils to make tears go into their eyes.

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

I usually never cared for that version of Batman a s much ( the one after Batman TAS ) because the animation was toned down and the plot was taken into another direction, but I have to admit that episode was very good.
What I always wondered why the animated version of Superman never had a recognizable voice, Batman had Kevin Conroy and Superman had several voices.
I can only guess that Christopher Reeves fills that by being the recognizable superman in the movies from the 80's
