Lol, indeed. I mean that hack Christian Bale reprising his role as throat cancer batman is a much more serious and immediate problem with another sequel.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

They would love it!
It's Batman. It's not like they're trying to turn cosmic marvel into some kinda ultra-realistic universe or something. The realism of the Nolan universe is kinda overstated anyhow.

Besides, the Nolan films change a lot less and take more actual cues from the comics than the 90s films did.

I liked Bale's Batman voice! It makes it more realistic that way. I mean, if he went around using the same speaking voice he always uses when he was in his Batman suit, someone would recognize him eventually. Maybe it was sillier in the comics, so it didn't matter, but these new Batman movies are trying to be a bit more realistic. Sure, maybe Bale as a person isn't so great, but I think he's a good actor.

Bale's voice was the worst thing about Dark Knight. Although iirc it was more the sound editors mucking around making it sound all exaggerated. It certainly didn't sound that bad in Begins.

Eh, that's actually a really poor example. Obviously outdated science can really throw people's suspension of disbelief off quite a bit. Spider-Man in particular tried to make the characters somewhat distantly plausible using the science of the time, as the public (poorly) understood it. Now that most people know a radioactive spider would have given Peter Parker thyroid cancer instead of superhuman abilities, a more plausible explanation was in order. I think it was handled quite well. Similar changes are made when the setting is changed from (for example) the 1960s to the 2000s--clothing, cars, technology, and patterns of speech are all going to change a bit. In Harry Potter's case though, your comparison falls flat in two places:
1: The books were written too recently to require these sort of changes.
2: Even if the books were older, we have not made any recent advances in magic. 8) Science, current events, culture and technology have to be updated. Magic doesn't.

Now suppose instead that we had a new adaptation of Starship Troopers that was actually based on the book this time... I'm pretty sure that only an insane few would complain when the ship's navigators used computers instead of slide rulers to calculate their trajectories.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed it being any different between the two movies. I haven't watched either in a while, though. Maybe they'll tone down his voice in DKR.

There's nothing even remotely realistic about Bale's Batman voice. Watch a few episodes of Batman the Animated Series with Kevin Conroy voicing Batman to see how you go back and forth between two voices subtly

I emphasized the word subtly for a reason as Bale's change in voices when he dons the cape and cowl is waaaaaay too over the top. It reaches levels of cheese that would make Joel Schumacher proud

You can clearly tell the difference between Bruce Wayne and Batman when Kevin Conroy is doing Batman in the cartoons, but it's not so ridiculously over the top

Well that's because Batman TAS is the best adaptation of the character, period.
