Re: confess: what classic game have you not played but should
I've never played any of the Metroid Primes. I've never even played through Metroid for NES & Super Metroid for SNES come to think of it, but I have at least played them.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Holy shit mines there lies a list and a half.
Lunar: 1 & 2
Final Fantasy III, IV, V, & VI
Sad but true...Galaga
Mario Bros. (back when Donkey Kong was nobody and Bowser was just an abstract idea)
Earthworm Jim (just the first)
I'm going to stop before I get assassinated.

Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?
I can't believe I never played...
I've never played Zelda: OOT, been meaning to but never got the time. What are some games that you have never played but think you really should?

Merged. We have one of these from earlier this year (and some before it, probably...).itsmattxp wrote:I've never played Zelda: OOT, been meaning to but never got the time. What are some games that you have never played but think you really should?

-Alone in the Dark (PC) - By the time I heard of this game, it was already old, Resident Evil 2 was out. And because RE was catching on so well, some people started pointing to Alone in the Dark as it's inspiration. At the time, I owned a 286 running Windows 3.1 and it was given to me as freebie because my school couldn't sell it. So I never got the chance to play this gem because I never had a computer to run it at the time. I hope it doesn't have compatibility issues so I can play it one day.
-Demon's Crest (SNES) - Looks like a great action-game with a few RPG-elements thrown in. I'm looking to add it to my collection soon. But for some reason, it just escaped my attention back in the day.
-Doom II (PC) - I've played many versions of the first game many times over. I've played all 3 of the original Quake games many times over. I've even played Doom 64 many times over. But I've never played through Doom II other than the demo. Considering the compatibility issues Hexen gives me, I doubt I will ever play it other than on the small screen of my GBA-SP.
-Heretic & Hexen II (PC) - I love the first Hexen, and I still own the original CD-Rom for Windows 95 (which has some compatibility issues on my XP system, but barely works), I also own the N64 version. Unfortunately I never got a chance to the play the first one or it's sequel. Just the middle-child.
-The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64) - I couldn't get into Ocarina of Time. I really gave it a good chance too. I tried to like it, because I'm completely in love with the 2D Zelda games on NES, SNES, Gameboy/GBC, & GBA. So because I couldn't get into Ocarina of Time, I just completely passed on Majora's Mask since it's basically Ocarina's sequel, from what I've heard.
-Maniac Mansion (NES) - Another one like Startropics where I simply never played it back in the day, but I'm now hearing a lot about. Sounds interesting enough that I may add it to the NES pile if I find it cheap.
-Rayman 2 (Dreamcast) - I actually own it, I found it real cheap and picked it up for my Dreamcast. I just haven't gotten around to playing it other than testing the first level to see if it worked. I've never been a big fan of 3D platformers other than the Crash Bandicoot and Pac-Man World series so I guess I'm putting Rayman 2 in the same boat with most 3D platformers in my head without giving it a fair chance first. (Funny thing is, though, that I LOOOVVVE 2D platformers like the Sonic the Hedgehog games, Super Mario games, Donkey Kong Countrys, and others.)
-Startropics (NES) - I've heard a lot of NES fans talk about this one. I never came across it in my NES days and as a result haven't really been looking to add it to my collection either.

You should really give that one a chance. It plays a lot like PacMan World II actually. But better IMO.

I have not played Shadow of the Colossus. A friend even sent me a demo disc of it and I never bothered to pop it in despite hearing nothing but good things about the game. I cannot explain my disinterest, it baffles even me.

I have never played a single Mega Man, Castlevania, or Metroid game.
I intend to play games from all of those series eventually.
