Another PM received, CRT WEGAS are getting popular again:

Omg was that thing heavy. like I literally thought I was going to get hurt moving that thing. I hear 250lbs, two people only 125 a person. Yeah thats lot. Doesn't seem like a lot but omg. I'm lucky to be alive I'm dead serious.
The picture is great. I think HD CRTs might be better looking than LCDs. However, I am bummed about lack of WS support. IMO that makes these useless to me. If I'm going to play my PS2, Xbox, or GCN in progressive scan, I'd like to use WS when available. And 2 lack of light gun support. That just does it in for me. But she loves it, for her basement. She can have HD boxes in all rooms now.
Congrats on getting a HD CRT! Which model number?
HDMI is better then DVI
In terms of connecting today's HDMI systems. No need for a DVI to HDMI conversion cable or separate RCA audio cables. VGA won't work directly on DVI without a transcoder anyways.
A 4:3 compromise for non widescreen games
480p supported games play fine at 480p when widescreen is turned off. If you do use the Widescreen mode in a PS2 game, it still fills up the screen, but with squeezed skinny game characters in the image. An opposite affect of fat game characters when stretching a 4:3 image on a widescreen HDTV.
I prefer a 4:3 screen since the majority of my consoles and games do not support widescreen.
Lightgun
I too, was disappointed in my PS2 and Dreamcast Lightgun not working on a HD CRT. Get a Wii and enjoy House of the Dead with the Sensor Bar Remote.
