In both regional variants, the HD version of Metal Gear Solid 3 is based on the "Subsistence" re-release, which means it has optional, user-controllable camera angles. That version also comes with the emulated MSX versions of Metal Gear 1 and 2, adding two more games to the collection!

Oh good. I knew they were using the Subsistence version, but I was afraid they might use the stripped-down single-disc version from the Essentials collection. Nice to hear it'll have the MSX titles from disc 2.

yeah, I think I'll unload my copy of MGS2 and hold off on buying 3 and just get this collection now.

This is extremely important to note as well, from Joystiq:

Kojima also said that the Metal Gear Solid 2 HD release would be based on "subsistence," by which he must have meant "Substance." He wasn't clear on whether the basis was the PS2 or Xbox version -- a distinction that seems minor until you learn that the PS2 version had a skateboarding minigame that we need in HD.

Originally I thought they said it was only going to be the original version of MGS2, but I definitely hope he does mean Substance here. The amount of VR Missions content in that game was ... pretty much another game in itself, it was nuts and I swear I had like 20-30 hours on it alone. Definitely hope this is true.

The cheese in Twin Snakes makes the last 1/3 of Sons of Liberty look like the classiest art this side of the Renaissance. :p

I didn't see any issues with Twin Snakes myself, I liked the remake. And frankly every Metal Gear has it's share of cheese.

Yeah, 2 I understand why I didn't finish it, just ended up being disappointed and gave up about 3/4 through. 3 I don't get, as that game was awesome, just was playing it during the end of the PS2 and the graphics just started to get to me.
