GoG versions definitely worked great for me. If you run into some choppiness, delete ddraw.dll from the games main folders (obviously back it up somewhere else if need be), I know that fixed things for myself and others with these versions.

A couple weeks ago, the Fallout Trilogy was on sale on Steam for $10. Back then, I would definitely say Steam, but now that the sale is done, go for GOG.

If you want to download it, get it from GOG, no question. My second choice would be the physical retail version (the Fallout trilogy set they sell at Walmart right now, or the original retail version, your choice). I wouldn't get the Steam version at all, because it has the most DRM.

About the multiple trilogy sets out there, avoid the White Label Collection at all costs. I couldn't even get Fallout 2 and Tactics installed from that thing and I'm pretty sure there was someone else around here that had the exact same problem. Then they bought the game off GoG and it worked, just like in my case as well. (I want to say it was Mr.Eco but maybe not).

GOG all the way, it's practically guaranteed to work on your system. If it doesn't their support will bend over backwards to help you. Amazing service and a very talented team.

I got the White Label collection years ago, got them to install, and they launched. Put them down and played something else. Tried to run them today and I was getting the color bug that old games are subject to when run on Windows 7. Decided to pick up the GOG releases instead, since I didn't want to fiddle with crap. GOG stuff worked perfectly out of the download.

LOL while playing this game I found an overturned truck between the first town and Vault 15 I think it had 700 caps. Woot then I tried to rescue that girl by killing the raiders and failed. Forgot to save and lost the 700 caps. GRRRRRR couldn't find the truck again.
Thanks everyone...

I can't say enough good things about GOG. Old games that work with no hassle and no DRM and you usually get some cool extra bits.
