I'm sorry but if I've seen nude male actors in live stage(theater) plays, I expect to see women being topless in movies with no problems (specially since I see topless women on the beach). If you can't do something that pushes your boundaries then you don't deserve to be called an artist.

The reason this is stupid is because SHE'S GOING TO BE ACTUALLY NAKED IN THE MOVIE. This to me is just so her dad can say to the neighbors "it's not really her, it's CGIed".

You don't want to do a nude scene? Say so from the start, so no nude scene exists. Add fake nude parts with CGI? You are a fucking hypocrite, neither truly conservative, nor truly an artist. That's what I find stupid.

And I'm sorry, but I'll join the "it sounded like you accused him of sexism" bandwagon. If you say you didn't, I don't really care to learn what your true intentions were, but please accept that at least it sounded like you were trying to say that.

Luke wrote:Forget her.

In her new movie THE CHANGE UP, she had her nipples cgi'd in. And not like some cool Kuato effect, she just covered her boobs and had the studio add the shape of her boobs and nipples. I see a new and horrible trend coming to Hollywood. The illusions are bad enough, and the boobs are already fake enough; now they're cgi'ing chicks who are already smoking hot.

This stinks.
Don't forget that Jessica Alba did the same thing in Machete.

The whole fake nudity thing does seem pretty silly to me. The idea that someone is unwilling to do a nude scene but will allow them to CGI fake skin so that it looks identical to a nude scene is pretty ridiculous. If you're going to do nudity, do nudity. If you aren't, don't, and don't pretend you are. I'm not really a fan of nude scenes, for what it's worth.

Since we're on the topic of weights gain/loss, I'm not sure that's a completely fair statement. I can think of several examples of men gaining and/or losing large amounts of weight for a film. With only a couple of exceptions (Monster, Bridget Jones, Bride and Prejudice), women in movies are just about always expected to be skinny. I think there's definitely a double-standard there.

More general comments:

It's funny when an actor gets a butt-double who is obviously in much better shape. Examples: Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct. Luke Wilson in My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Mandy Moore in that movie where she was the president's daughter.

I'm not going to boycott Olivia Wilde. On the scale of stupid things that entertainers have done, this is still pretty low, and if we boycotted entertainers every time they said or did things we disagreed with, we'd be pretty much out of luck.

I'm pretty sure Christian Bale does this WAY TOO MUCH, there's no way in hell that's healthy. Going from Batman Begins to The Machinist, yeah. Well more power to his determination I guess, lol.

Edward Norton also loses and gains weight if the role calls for it. I remember in Incredible Hulk, he bulked up so much he turned green and became 7 ft tall.

Things I felt like writing at certain points in this thread but don't feel like organizing in any meaningful way:

Chris Evans probably would have lost the weight but there wasn't enough time for the weight gain/loss. Plus he needed to look shorter and smaller in general.

Christian bale loses and gains weight for like every other role.

They're going to CG nipples onto the batsuit in the dark knight rises.

If her boobs were CGd and nobody can tell and thinks they're real, then why didn't she just show them in the first place?

I need to see love and other drugs.

Someone should edit anne hathaway's nude scenes into a dark knight rises trailer to make it seem like nolan went with a nudist catwoman.

Her leather outfit in Get Smart made me look forward to her portrayal as catwoman. (In a general, "she can pull this off way", not a "she looks good in leather" way.)

Still think it's weird that Hollywood thinks, ladies show tits, men show dick. That just doesn't equate. Nah... chest for chest, crotch for crotch.

And the only time you should use a (body part) double is if your (part) isn't great. CGI in place of real stuff is such a waste of time and money.

If I remember right there was a court decision in New York that women could walk around topless because men were allowed to.

Works in a lot of countries. Then again, there is an age limit that I think all people should have to cover up by... or weight limit.
