Yes, I would like to know as well. I am planning to buy a PS3 soon enough to play MGS4, but haven't decide on what to buy. I already have the FAT PS2 with HDD so I might not care too much about BC. But being able to play PS1 and PS2 games upscale to HD is very enticing. Anyway, I am seriously considering buying the gunmetal limited edition 80 GB PS3 if the price is right. Probably 500 dollars or more and adding the 85 dollars for the limited edition games is a whole lot of money to play just one freaking game. I think I might retire from gaming after this one.vlame wrote:you lost a lot more than ps2 bc.HoboJoe wrote:I bought a 40 gig ps3...cause it was cheap...and I have 2 ps2's....so I could care less about BC....if your gonna keep your older systems...just buy whats cheap.

I hear you. I feel the same way about the price at this time. I have decided I will wait until at least this Xmas season because I really think they are going to have to drop the price again by about this fall, even with all the good games coming PS3's way. I'm tracking the price of used 60 GB models in hopes that they might drop along with the new units at retail.peace4myheart wrote:Yes, I would like to know as well. I am also interested in a 60GB PS3. Since you are tracking the price, will you tell me what is a fair price that one is going for nowaday (new, used, complete, incomplete) so I won't get rip off if I do decide to buy one.RadarScope1 wrote:I'm tracking the price of used 60 GB models in hopes that they might drop along with the new units at retail.

Hey don't forget the 20GB model if you want the best backwards compadibility! Might be able to find it cheaper then the 60GB.
I bought a 20GB last summer and upgraded the hard drive to 120GB recently (prices are very cheap on laptop hard drives now). I bought a usb enclosure for the old drive and now use it as a large capacity (compared to usb sticks) portable drive which has really come in handy for me lately. Lack of wireless is no issue to me as it only sits a few feet away from my router.
