What is up with mom's loving the Myst games? It's not the first time I've definitely heard that, my friend says his mom would beat those games in a day. lol

My dad actually got my mom Myst to glaze over the fact that he had dropped more money than she was comfortable with getting a computer at the time. It ending up backfiring on him once she got hooked and he couldn't pry her away from the computer he really wanted to use.

My Dad only plays something that caught his interest. Other than that, he does not play games.

My Mother loves Wii games, YDKJack, and once held a high score on Millipede at a local bowling alley.

My Father gamed a ton in the 80's. He gave me his 2600 and cib 2600 game collection, and have kept them as pristine as possible. Kind of funny how he had the patience for Missile Command but found smb incredibly frustrating. He'd rather watch games than play them though these days, which works for me.

My parents have never really understood my obsession with video games, but they always bought me one on my birthday and a few for Christmas when I was younger.

I think they find it a bit strange that I'm an adult now and still would like to get video games for my birthday and for Christmas. I don't get them as often now, unless it comes via an Amazon gift card.

When I was kid, I was always trying to get them interested in games, but it would never stick. I would try to show off my skills, play games I thought they would like, have them watch the cool cutscenes in Ninja Gaiden. They just thought I was odd, I guess.

My mom did get obsessed with Lady Bug for awhile on the Colecovision, but she looks back on that period of her life with confusion as to why she would ever stay up until 5:00am to break 1 million points. She also was insanely fast with Minesweeper. Other than that she's never really played games or shown interest until she recently surprised me by saying she was thinking about getting a Wii. Nintendo somehow really has figured out a way to pull in people that normally wouldn't game. My dad, though, has never shown any interest. He's never been much for any hi-tech gadgetry and still doesn't even have a cell phone and refuses to use the i-pod my mom bought him, despite being a huge music buff.

My dad used to play quite a bit when we first got a super nintendo, mainly Super Mario World, F-Zero, SimCity, and we would occasionally play some Super Mario Kart until I moved out a few years back. Also, when I first got my Wii, both my dad and my mom (who I'm pretty sure had never touched a video game in her life) got hooked on Wii Sports to the point that my dad could bowl a 300 fairly consistently.

At this time I had my Wii in the living room and would play games while I thought my mom was reading. Until I realized she was spending more time watching me play games like Resident Evil 4 and Zelda than reading and was actually following the stories. Then came the backseat gaming whenever I died or got stuck.

My mom was 43 and my dad 47 when they had me, so they didn't understand games at all. At least they bought me a Mega Drive and a Playstation.

I was happy to have my dad watch Tom & Jerry with me. It was one of the few cartoons he "got".

My older sisters really liked Myst, as well as Riven. I don't think they ever got into anything past that though.

i wish they did but they are too old fashion for gaming.
They knew about it, thats why i got videogames and console for bdays. But they just view it as a toy lol.

Sadly the last time they bought me a video console is my beloved dreamcast :D
