I tried to convince my friend recently to get a PS3 instead of replacing his 360 for literally like the 5th time or so, just because it'd be more reliable and still probably offer most of the games you'd ever want.

You can easily go back and a few pages and guess I'm more of a 360 user, with a lot more of my friends on XBL, I own more games for it, etc, but still... I have no problem giving the facts to my friend and suggesting he'd probably be better off getting a PS3 for now or to finally get a damn slim 360, lol.

No, actually this is the first Elder Scrolls being made for consoles and then ported to the PC. If it weren't for mods, the PC community would get shafted when it came to this game.

Another reason I picked the 360 is the controller. It fits my large hands well, and I like it much better than that boxy thing Sony calls a controller. I also had many more friends with 360's than PS3. I've noted for next generation that the only console exclusive for the Xbox I want after this generation include Gears of War, and Left 4 Dead (Which I would get on a computer if I knew my PC could handle it.)
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

I picked up my first 360 several years ago for $75 from my local game store. It was a nice, working system when I first got it. My roommate and I put a lot of hours into it, bought a lot of games for it, and overall were pretty happy with it.

Then the drive started getting stuck. Then the console started freezing. Then the system started rejecting discs - even brand new ones. We would spend upwards of 20-30 minutes inserting and removing game discs just to get the unit to play. And over half the time the console would freeze within 15 minutes of game play.

So, I started expressing interest in getting a new 360, and my local game store sold me a slim ps3 instead. I was immediately impressed. I had never played a ps3 until that moment, and as soon as I loaded my first game I knew I made the right decision.

I feel like the Dashboard is a lot easier to navigate than the XMB. However, the XMB just makes my screen feel massive with it's small, clean look. My games load right away and I haven't had a single one freeze yet. The system is a bit more of an investment than the 360, but I just kind of feel safer with it. Whereas i've replaced my 360 a couple of times now (even my newest one is starting to have complications with only a few hours on it) I have a feeling that my ps3 is going to run forever. I've had countless 10-15 hour sessions on it without a single hiccup.

I also truly enjoy the fact that if I want to play a game online with someone - I don't have to pay for it. As many people have said before me, i'm not much of an online gamer. The small amount that I pay is definitely not worth the XBL subscription fee. The 360 does offer a great online service, and the store has a lot of great games in it (especially in comparison to the playstation store) but i'm still willing to haul a TV and a console to a LAN before I pay for XBL.

While the playstation store does lack in volume, the ability to share some of those titles with my PSP without having to purchase them again is a nice feature.

I think that the Microsoft controllers are a little better built overall, but the D-pad has always seemed very flimsy to me, whereas the Sony controllers not only have a better placed D-Pad, but a much better built one. I also like that the Sony controllers utilize a USB cable for charging instead of a proprietary device.

Overall I much prefer my PS3. The 360 hasn't been reduced to a Roku box yet (unlike my wii) but it certainly doesn't get nearly as much attention anymore.

I've always had PlayStation's so getting the PS3 when it was time was a no brainer for me. I'm just use to the pad, and the general way Sony makes things.
Also BluRay is a big plus. Not only for the movies but the PS only games will always be much better because of the BR storage capabilities.
Another plus for me is the free online. I rarely play online so when it went down it didn't matter two shits to me, but its nice that it is there to go on if I ever feel like it.
Also I think it just looks better, especially the fat models. The black matt finish goes well with my black LED tv, my black DVD recorder and my black BluRay player :P

I have all three current gen consoles and I must say that the Xbox 360 is used way more than the others for gaming. The PS3 is used more for watching movies/TV. The Wii is hardly used at all. I'd say the 360 is better for gaming and the PS3 is better for multimedia purposes.

Just got my 360, and I think it will get play time about equal with my PS3. PS3 has the advantage of being region free while my 360 is Japanese. So, multi platform releases are more likely to be bought on the PS3 unless the release happens to be better on the 360 and not region locked.
