Have you played some good megawads? I'd say the Doom II exclusive episode was like Alien Vendetta level material, which is probably the best megawad I've played. Granted at first I didn't get the hype, the first 10 levels or so are kind of whatever, but after that it was just incredible, even if the last levels were pretty damn easy. I've enjoyed the Community Chest Packs (1-3), Memento Mori 1-2, and Hell Revealed 1-2 quite a bit as well. Still a hundred or so megwads to check out someday. :D

I've never really got into all this with DN3D though ... huh, any good site out there for any DN3D total conversions or whatever? Like doomworld.com for Doom or something.

Also for the Duke veterans here, I don't know if it's just me but do you need an insane machine to run HRP really well? I downloaded the new v5 release of it a few days ago and it ran like crap. eDuke's been crashing me as well sadly, so I might start replaying the rest of DN3D via the XBLA version, which was a very well done port honestly.

Some WADs are insanely hard, and of much better design than official levels.

I wish I still had Doom 2/Doom!

I finished it a few days ago, definetely rewarding. And speaking of stupidly hard games, I've been playing FarCry and man it sucks, the AI is super cheap and you die after 2 shots.
Also, no manual/quick saving and the checkpoints are very spaced out.

Press F9 for quicksave. It's a life-saver.
