I'm at level 4 now and I nearly punched my TV.
Careful about touching the TV. Doom might devour you and it'll be like Tron. But with demons. :D
Easy, after playing Postal 2 I learned one thing: PEE SOLVES ANYTHING. Just 2 liters of Sunkist and I'll be ready  .

Actually, Postal 2 is pretty hard too.

Careful with the urine, too.

And that's just with monkeys...

Thy Flesh Consumed on UV or higher >>>>>>>>>>>> Doom 2 on UV or higher.

Easily.

It gets easier as you go though, when you start building up your weapons and ammo again.

Vanilla Doom is still pretty easy though (I got all the achievements for both games on the 360 lol), check out some megawads if you want something that'll really kicks your ass.

Wait, you lost me. Are you saying Thy Flesh Consumed is easier than Doom 2?

'Cause I'd agree with that.

Archviles alone...damn.

I've beaten Doom 2 on UltraViolence (Hell, I don't play Doom on anything less than UV anymore). Fun stuff. Wouldn't try Nightmare though.

Speaking of which Xeo, what did you think of the new episode that came with Doom 2 on XBLA? My friend and I loved it. We beat it one evening playing the same way we always do, taking turns each level. We've been doing that for Doom and Duke for 15 years. Good times.

Oh whoops, no I actually found Episode 4 of Doom to be a lot harder than Doom 2, while doing both on UV. The weapon reset in Episode 4 really funks you up and even though Doom doesn't have some of the extra enemies, it's also lacking that double shotgun and all... I also remember the level design in the original game being a lot more claustrophobic, so it was harder to take cover or something.

I guess you had a different experience, haha. But I had probably played a lot of megawads between the time I played Episode 4 of Doom and then Doom 2, I thought Doom 2 was mostly a cake walk on UV.

TNT isn't too bad either but Plutonia is a bitch, I'm not a huge fan of the level designs anyways and those guys abused the hell out of chaingunners!

I thought the XBLA exclusive episode for Doom 2 was pretty damn impressive. Really complicated huge levels and all, they were pretty awesome and the detail in the level design was very top notch. Would have been cooler if it were longer! I think I remember it was only like ~6 levels or something?

Didn't hear about that. Wonder if anyone's extracted the WAD and if it's compatible with vanilla Doom.

Well last I heard when it pretty much just came out people were working on that, haha. Not sure if it's been completed by now or not, it's definitely worth checking out though if it is.

Hell man, at this point I'm never sure. I've played both enough times at this point in my life, I don't remember my original experience.

I think they're both fairly difficult, some levels more so than others. Lets leave it at that, heh.

I don't care for TNT or Plutonia. Not much else to say. :?

The new episode was pretty short, but man was it sweet. I need to play it again...
