I don't like them. I'd actually be thrilled if this had been released physically. But it wasn't. So my options were get the digital game BEFORE 6/30 or never play it ever. Seemed kind of an obvious choice to me.dgamemuster wrote:

you're right. I would much rather have the physical release, but I bought the digital because like I said options were (A) digital or (B) no Turtles. It was more important for me to have Turtles than try to change the world.Inazuma wrote:Your mouth says no, but your wallet says yes. >_>

I don't want this to come across as an insult, but you don't strike me as someone who is particularly good at beat'em ups. Does the reduced difficulty of this version have anything to do with you loving it? I can see how someone can make that argument. The diagonal attacks make it more accessible, which is partially why I DON'T like itnoiseredux wrote:again, I don't get the hate. I think it's pretty fantastic honestly. I'm a huge Turtles fan, so admittedly I might like the games a bit more than the next guy. But um... it looks great and is a lot of fun plus offers up online co-op. Good game.dgamemuster wrote:Pst. Hackers and pirates have always served a purpose in my eyes, which is why I never bash on them like other people do. I think that's pretty messed up.
I may actually download this even though I don't like what I've seen of it, only because I can see interest in it going up once it's no longer available. It'll become an interesting conversation piece

LOL I'm not insulted but somehow that seems like a really funny thing to say to someone. "I've never SEEN you play a game, but I get the impression you suck at beat-em-ups."Gamerforlife wrote: I don't want this to come across as an insult, but you don't strike me as someone who is particularly good at beat'em ups. At any rate, you are correct that this version is WAY easier than the SNES or Arcade versions. But that's not the reason I like this game so much. I actually find the graphics quite pleasing. Little things -- the way Toka and Razor looked when they were defeated and turned back into little animals for instance. Or Krang popping out of his big robo-body and the newly recorded voice. I don't know, I just found the whole thing very enjoyable and kept wondering why everyone hated it so much.
IF you're basing yr hatred on it being too easy, well. I don't know. That's just yr personal preference I guess. But it seems awfully dismissive of every other aspect of the game.
BTW, I'm not especially good at beat-em-ups, nor am I especially bad at them. I've been playing Ninja Turtles games since the first one on NES, though so I just have opinions on the games within that series. I'm not saying this is the best Turtles game ever made. But it is FAR from the worst in my opinion.

It's not the worst, that's true. and I know Re-Shelled isn't so much a BAD game. I just am disappointed because I think it could have been a better remake and also because I personally believe the SNES version is still better. Oh, and the comment about me wondering if you were good at beat'em ups was just based on stuff you've said in other threads, but yeah I've never actually seen you play anything so I guess it is a funny thing to say from your perspective lol.noiseredux wrote:LOL I'm not insulted but somehow that seems like a really funny thing to say to someone. Now as for the diagonal attacks making things easier, I'm not the sort of person who will hate on a game JUST because it's easy. However, I feel that the SNES version wasn't that hard if you knew what you were doing. In fact, some have criticized it for being too easy. Once you learned how to do that move that slams a foot soldier back and forth the game starts to feel like a cakewalk because the move one hit kills the soldier and any other soldiers that get hit by it. So, in my mind, making a relatively easy game MORE easy was just unnecessary.
You mentioned some cool stuff like Tokka and Razor turning into mini versions of themselves, but I think the SNES version had that stuff too. I remember you could actually attack Razor in his little pup form and he would just make this funning yelping sound.
You know what? I kind of wish they had just released a perfect port of the original arcade version, since so many of us already have access to the SNES version. It would have been nice to make the original version available outside of MAME. While I think the SNES version is better, as a beat'em up fan I would have enjoyed just having access to the original, historic version of the game on my consoles

yeah the Tokka and Razor thing was in the original, just meant I loved the redisigned look of them in this. I liked the look of a lot of the characters in it.
I get what yr saying though. The arcade version was unlockable in Mutant Nightmare for PS2/XBox/GCN by the way, thought not arcade-perfect as the music was changed up.
