I find it annoying that companies can never get a perpetual license for games based on comics and stuff.

And this is another reason why we shouldn't support download only titles. Once it's taken off the server, it's gone.

I have the superior Super Famicom version of this game, so no big deal either way. It is still available to buy, even today! How nice.

At the very least, there needs to always be a way to back up the file. I'm sure hackers have already figured out a way to back up DL only stuff so hopefully it can be preserved for the future.

That's the truth. It's nothing like the original game and is just a lazy, cheap cash in. I'm GLAD it's getting pulled. They butchered the soundtrack and the diagonal attacks fundamentally changes the gameplay for the worse

I actually just watched my four year old kid play this all morning. He loves the game, and although its not as great as the SNES game, its still pretty decent.

It's kind of depressing isn't it? It will happen now though. Games are going to mostly disappear. Just like it happened with Sega Channel and Satellaview games.

Yet thanks to clever folks we've managed to salvage most of the stuff from those. So it's not THAT depressing.

Can't you still DL it if you bought it? I thought we had a thread about another game that got pulled and members said they could still DL the game.

And just like with those, pirates will be the ones to preserve the games for posterity. Makes you wonder how some gamers can vilify them.
