I call the assembly of the racketeers.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I call the assembly of the racketeers.

Post by ZeroAX »

I call this assembly of the racketeers, to discuss an important issue that has come up. Just a few minutes I was informed of a hideous gaming crime one of our active members has committed. The individual, known as General Norris among us, has trusted me with his greatest gaming secret. His greatest retro gaming sin. But as a fellow advocate of the greatness of retro gaming, I can not allow such a vile criminal act to go on. I have to report him to the Racketboy forums (also since he is a much better spy than me at TF2, this is finally my chance to be the one doing the backstabing. Think you're going to sleep with my scout's mother and get away with it Norris? HAH. No you don't).

While chatting on msn, he revealed this to me: WARNING, this URL links to an image which displays words of gruesome meaning to retro gamers. Be warned, it is not to be viewed by those who are week of heart.

I have thought about it and I have come to the conclusion, that there is only one thing we can do about it. Vote to ostracise him from the forums (history lesson for those who don't know what that is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostracism).

If he is found guilty of crimes against retro gaming, I propose 3 steps towards his punishment.

1) We throw the ostraka we voted on, on his head.

2) If he survives, we force him to play Team Fortress 2 for 24 hours...... the PS3 version.

3) If he survives that, we'll force him to play Sonic the Hedgehog.....2006!!!

And then....he'll probably have committed suicide, so I'm not going to even think about what we'll do with him afterwards. Though I'd like to take those organs. Dibs on the kidney!

......................................................................

On a more serious note, anyone else here who hasn't beaten a single game in a hugely known and mainstream gaming series?

And what will we do with this guy? Force him to beat Sonic 1, 2, Knuckles, or Advance (the last one has a save feature, so laziness is no excuse  )

I, also, have not beaten a single Sonic game, if you mean the main ones. I've beaten Sonic Adventure, but from your tone I assume that wouldn't cut it. :P

This is kind of what Snickerdoodle's Summer challenge thread is for. I suggest he head on over there and sign up to do a few classic games that he's ashamed to have not beaten.

There are many franchises where I've not beaten a game from it. Especially newer franchises like Call of Duty or Splinter Cell, but I'm sure you can list a bunch and from those I probably have only seen a few games to the end. But there are oh so many video game franchises.

I have never beaten a Sonic game, and until I get my Genesis hooked up, I honestly don't care to.

I've never been a huge fan of either Sonic or Mario. I own a few games of each, but I'd rather play Mega Man, Metroid, or Castlevania when I play platformers.

Half Life 1 is longer and more difficult than 2 or the episodes. However, I enjoyed all of them IMMENSELY.
