Games in italics have been beaten in previous years.
Games that have an underlined x followed by a number shows the number of times I have beaten them this year. (example: x3)
Up next?
I'm still playing Demon's Souls, going for that platinum. I also want the last two trophies I need for 100% in Uncharted 2. As playign something I have not beaten before, I've been thinking of busting my gamecube out for some more loving. Maybe Viewtiful Joe, or Second Sight.

*Updated*Demon's Souls (PS3) x2
Played through NG+ in offline mode. So no help from other people like my first time through. I only need 13 more items / miracles left to get before I have the platinum. Unfortunately it requires 1.5 more play throughs to get them all. Still a great game. Except for 1-4. Fuck you Blue Dragon, and fuck you False King. Made me rage so hard. At one point I lost 649,000 souls to the False King.

An interesting little horror game. The plot is fairly interesting, but it ends in a cliff hanger while almost none of the questions in the game got answered. Hopefully the sequel will wrap it up.
As for the actual gameplay, the puzzles were fairly ammusing, but the combat was terrible. Granted, you are for the most part supposed to avoid combat with the games 2 enemy types, but at a few points combat is pretty much forced on you. An odd design decision. As a plus, you never really know when or where and enemy will come from. If you study the structure of the game enough you can make some good guesses as to when an enemy will appear, but the average player will not do this.
The atmosphere is great though. Every room and setting was interesting. I found myself reading every text log and looking forward to finding more. The lighting is by far the best aspect of the game though. Every shadow feels real and unique. Unfortunately its actually better to use your 'reserve' glow stick the entire game instead of your flashlight, as the glow stick never needs a battery refill, and it has a wider light source, lighting up more of the room.
Overall, it was a fun game, but not one I am going to play again.
*New*Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box (PS3)
Oh Burnout, how I have loved and hated you over the years. And Paradise is no exception to this love hate relationship. Lets break it down shall we:
What I loved:
Open World Driving - Being able to cruise around on my own and just explore the city was super. It was one of my favourite features in Need for Speed Most Wanted, and Im glad Burnout adopted it.
Tons of Secrets and Unlocks - There are Billboards to smash, shortcuts to find, and super jumps to land. On top of that you are constantly unlocking new cars to use as you play through the game. It made all the racing worth it.
Visuals - The city is fabulous looking. Of course there is no people, aside from the never seen radio DJ, so it felt like I was in the world of Cars for the most part. But the actual city is so beautiful I didn't care there was not a soul in sight. I often would just park my car and look at my surroundings. The level of detail was really nice.
The Takedown events - So much fun chaining together take downs. And since they had no end point I could use the whole city as my playground in them.
What I hated:
No Retry Button - Fail and event and the only way to retry is to drive all the way back across the city to the start point again. So frustrating.
Repetitive - Since all the races end at one of 8 locations, I often found that I was taking very similar routes to the finish each time. This meant that a ton of the shortcuts found in the city went unused unless I was just exploring. And another note, there were not enough event types. The could have easily added some more race variety by making all your opponents a certain vechile class, or making traffic super dense, stuff like that.
Being Wrecked - Now, im not against the crashing, if you mess up you should pay the price. But I often found the crashes very far to easy to do. I would barely tap another car on the side and I would go flipping through the air like a mad man. The little camera clip it plays while this happens was cool the first dozen times, but after that it wears thin and you just want to skip the clip, but you can't. After the hundredth time you hate wrecking more then anything.
Im probably going to try and get some more trophies, but I doubt I'll come back the game after that. Maybe to just cruise around, but I've had my fill of the racing.

Is that what you count as beatingREPO Man wrote:Got Alice: Madness Returns today. Currently at the Vale of Tears in the Original, and just arrived at the Mad Hatter's in the AMR.
Re: Games Beaten : 2011
Not particularly challenging, especially with unlimited continues, but I beat Twinkle Star Sprites.
Love this game. The kind of game I can play over and over and over.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
How do you count Burnout Paradise as beaten? There's so much to do in that game...
Re: Games Beaten : 2011
Once you get the Burnout License the credits unlock and start playing immediately. So I figured that would be beaten, and 100% completed would be the Burnout Elite License +all cars / Billboards / Yellow Gates / Super Jumps and ruling all the roads in time and crash.
I actually have most of the billboards / yellow gates / super jumps, but I said hell no to the Burnout Elite license and ruling all the roads. Too time consuming for very little reward. Though maybe one day I will 100% my PC copy. You never know.
