smackdown title is from THQ, its not budget or indie at all. its on par with current day Smackdown vs RAW

It is a part of a yearly sports(or well, basically sports) franchise that is not meant to be excellent, or push any boundaries. It is just meant to be out there. I never said indie either, keep your words.

you made it sound like the game is made on the cheap
like ECW for 64 for example

but smackdown as I understand is a main wrestling title which is very lucrative as i understand
i am sure a lot of care was put into graphics when it came out, even if its budget is not as big as GOW

Smackdown has sold very many copies, because it has had 12 games. Besides, GOW Collection on PS3 is going to look better than any ps2 game.

I always thought Kirby's Adventure was a good example of this on the NES:

Weekend_warrior gave a much better example than mine!
and even a closer time range!
thnx

i dunno about mario bros and kirby, maybe because kirby's graphics is pretty much ancient by today's standard hehehehe

but those pictures reminded me of a time where games were easier and fun to play as it concentrated on the game not the graphics...which sometimes i think it makes clutter and takes away your concentration from the game

but you were asking for illustrations of graphics at the beginning and end of a system's life. Kirby is a huge jump from SMB. It's a great example of the NES' growth.

@noiserdux

am not saying its not a great example
i am saying i dont feel it because both graphics look ancient that i dont see one is much better than the other, because bad graphcis to us are 3D n64 ones probably

and bad n64 3D is way much better than kirby
its a feeling thing not a fact thing

A feeling very out of place on a Retro forum.

haha seriously. I'll take Kirby NES over the look of just about any N64 game.
