HELL YEAH. But have you seen the newer one, Under the Red Hood? I think I mentioned it and maybe some of us were talking about it in some other thread, man it was so good. It was so TAS Batman it was glorious... with the exception of Mark Hamill not playing Joker, but he was voiced by Bender who did a decent job actually.

I can't recall the other TAS movies though, I know there was one with Mr. Freeze, but I'm not sure after that. Honestly, Batman Beyond was kind of cool too and my friend tells me that one had some good movies as well. Might have to check them out sometime.

The other Mr. Freeze one is Sub-Zero... There are two other movies too but I can't remember the titles.

Batman Beyond's concept is really dumb at first glance, but it's handled very well. I'd say any fan of Batman: TAS should check it out, since they are the same continuity and all. Only movie for Beyond I know of is Return of the Joker, and that one's pretty good.

Beyond the Joker sounds right, I remember my friend saying it was pretty mature, at least compared to the TV series (kind of like Mask of the Phantasm vs TAS I guess you could say), definitely gonna have to check it out sometime myself. It's been years since I've seen Beyond, totally forgot it was directly connected to TAS.

And I could care less about the OMG THOSE CHARACTERS WEREN'T FROM FIRST CLASS crap. It's a title, things change, who gives a shit.

But yeah, bug girl and her volcano hairballs were pretty lame. Also, the first joke referencing professor X's baldness was enough, the one at the end made no sense.

I also understand that they probably made the movie with the thought that there may not be another one, but I felt like they rushed the hero/villain dynamic between prof X and magneto. I think it requires a full trilogy to explore their friendship before they go their separate ways. I always imagined them knowing eachother for years before their differences pushed them apart.

X-Men: James Bond Class

I just got back from X-Men: First Class. It's freaking awesome! Easily the best of all the X-Men films. What made it so great was that it focused far more on the story than flashy special-effects, something a lot of other comic-movie franchises could learn from.

It's action-packed, it's emotional, it has great characterization, and just tells a helluva story. It didn't follow the comics at all, but it was so damn good that I don't care a bit. At first the movie has this very James Bond feel to it, but once it gets moving it's has it's own flavor entirely and suddenly becomes very gripping and action-packed.

I highly recommend seeing this one.

As I previously expressed, I though this movie was at best a 2.

Then I re-watched it and read the script. O M G. On screen it is still a 2, maybe a 2.5, but the script is terribly awful. You don't pick up on it by just watching it, but dear Lord the script is one of the worst ones written in the past three years. The movie has about 44 montages, but my favorite back to back montage is (paraphrased):

1) X-Men First Class members show off their skills and possible nicknames...then...
2) X-Men First Class members show off their skills and then sit around and discuss possible nicknames.

I'm not at all against a comic book movie going against continuity, as the writers already have to deal with 50 years of cross overs and re-writes, but I can't get past some of the awful performances and the dialogue.

With all that in mind, I like Full House and own the series. And with that in mind, I still think First Class could have been better written by Helen Keller (fact:she owned a pit bull).
