X-Men: First Class

Post by Mechblue »

Just saw the movie this afternoon. Wondering what others thought of the film.

I thought it was a fun film, plenty of action, nice to see xmen back on the big screen again. :D

Spoilers: Prof. X gets crippled.

Damn you! You ruined the movie for me

A friend of mine has seen it. He hated all previous X-Men movies but loved this one. He used to be a big comic book and X-Men nerd too

I liked the first two and the third was meh. Xmen wolverine was ok too I guess (horrible on blu-ray, those CGI claws were way too fake looking). This latest one was pretty good and it was nice to see Kevin Bacon being a bad ass. I just like seeing people with powers beat on each other.

This one I think will speak to those who liked Silver Age Xmen when things were more simple and you aren't just flung in to a world you're expected to be familiar with. Also learning some back story to how things came to be (dunno how true they kept to the original stuff) was nice.

I have pretty much loathed all the X-Men movies so far. I'll give this one a shot because I'm a real geek for all things Cold War, but I am pretty sure I'll be disappointed again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Same here. Damn am I tired of Wolverine.

I'm really getting bored of super hero movies in general. But I'll check this one out with some friends during the week when it's cheap...

FIRST CLASS isn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it. At times the effects look shoddy, and the movie contains some typical prequel garbage that shouldn't have been included; not as bad as Anakin building See-Threepio, but still silly nonetheless.

There were some really great scenes that I'll leave unmentioned as it seems few have seen the movie, but I thought there were more goofy than great scenes in total. Plus, there is one actress that is so boring that you would think her mutant power is turning stiff and wooden.

But overall, I'd rank it up there with the first X-Men. Not as good as X-2, but certainly better than X-3.

I didn't have any interest in this because I was disillusioned with X-men movies after the Ratner turd and the Wolverine turd.

First X-Men was great. X-Men 2 was awesome. Three was just.... WOW. It was utter shit.

"Hey lets have this scene where Mags picks up the bridge, but it's clearly like 5PM, right? Ok cool we have him pick up the bridge... but when he puts it down lets IMMEDIATELY GO TO FUCKING 1AM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT - and I want the transition to last like 3 seconds!"

Idiot.

But I have to admit this new one looks pretty cool. Was it directed by Singer, or was he just a producer?

I'm not even going to bother. When you know the source material well, movie adaptations always tend to be too far off from what you're used to.

Worse yet is dealing with people who think the current leader of the entirety of mutants, as a whole, is currently dead because of Ratner.

It kinda made me wanna watch the other X-Men flicks. I only went 'cause my friends invited me and I was bored outta my skull, keep that in mind. I'll say this: It was, like most movies set out to be, entertaining :D
