Best X-Men movie yet.
What retcons are some of you speaking of? The only one I can think of is Professor X being paralyzed in First Class (1962) when he was standing at the end of Origins (1979).
And since Origins is dead to me, there is no problem.
EDIT: Nevermind. I checked them out on imdb.

Yes, Magneto absolutely made the movie for me!

Didn't care for Batman Begins?dunpeal2064 wrote:I still think these comic book movies could be a lot better. The only one that just blew me away was Dark Knight.

Anyone with me here in thinking that Batman and Batman Returns are the best Batman movies?

Re: X-Men: First Class
Personally I find the two Burton films to be really strong on visuals but weak on narrative.
They're cool movies, the first one especially for its historical signifigance alone (bringing a 'darker' batman to mainstream audiences), but I prefer the Nolan movies to them honestly.
If you really want to press me to pick a favorite Batman flick though I'd probably end up going with Mask of the Phantasm.

I didn't watch the burton/keaton films at all growing up, so that's probably why I don't think of them as fondly as others here might. I have a lot of respect for them and what they did, but yeah.

Am I the only one here who thinks the 1960s Batman movie is the best?brunoafh wrote:Anyone with me here in thinking that Batman and Batman Returns are the best Batman movies?

When I was in grad school I went to class with a lady who had worked for Warner Bros. for several years. She said that Frank Gorshin (The Riddler) was the nicest man she ever met.
Re: X-Men: First Class
Ack, I freaking loved the TV series growing up. Haha, I don't know why but my parents hated that I watched it, maybe because it was too cheesy or something. I have no idea.
But anyways, I'd almost dare to say Batman TAS and Arkham Asylum > ALL Batman movies.
But I definitely was a big fan of the first two growing up. I can still recall that early scene when Batman is holding some guy by the neck at the top of some building ready to drop him. Before this didn't Batman take a few bullets to the chest, only to fake his death for a second there? Epic. I haven't seen Returns in years and I couldn't even watch it for awhile growing up (it was Rated R! haha), but yeah I enjoyed that one a good bit too from what I remember.
