edit: seems as if jfrost beat me to MH tri.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
I forgot to mention that I do like the light gun stuff. The RE and HOTD games are pretty fun.
@Opa Opa
Monster Hunter 3 is the only game that's exclusive to Wii that you listed though.
I'm not really down with any of that besides No More Heroes. I also forgot to mention that one.jfrost wrote:It isn't hard to find stuff you'll like, really: Little King's Story, Epic Mickey, Trauma Team, Lost in Shadow, No More Heroes, Monster Hunter Tri, de Blob, Zack and Wiki, Madworld, Boom Blox, Tales of Monkey Island, World of Goo, Bit.Trip, Klonoa, Sakura Wars...

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Cave Story, FF: Crystal Chronicles - My Life as Dark Lord, Castlevania The Adventure: Rebirth, Gradius Rebirth, Contra Rebirth, just to mention some of the amazing downloadable titles for WiiWare.
You don't like any Nintendo titles and you don't like any of the 3rd party titles we've mentioned.....so...what DO you like?brunoafh wrote: I'm not really down with any of that besides No More Heroes. I also forgot to mention that one.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
So is Geometry Wars Galaxies (Wii/DS). It is different from Geometry wars in that it has both a single player campaign and multiplayer.brunoafh wrote:Monster Hunter 3 is the only game that's exclusive to Wii that you listed though.

Oh. Exclusives...brunoafh wrote:@Opa Opa

Well Silent Hill Shattered Memories was essentially built for the Wii so there's that.
Geometry Wars Galaxies- you're right. Also on DS (but I'd recommend Wii)
Sonic Racing- from what I've read, the wii version has the best frame-rate but yeah not exclusive.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
That's fine. Kinda hard to recommend anything without knowing what you like. I know you like Japanese RPGs from reading your replies in other topics, but that's pretty much it.brunoafh wrote:I'm not really down with any of that besides No More Heroes. I also forgot to mention that one..
I don't have a Wii myself, but it is the only console this generation I'd consider owning, because it is so different from the others. PC has me covered on the HD gaming.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Alright so maybe I was being a bit harsh on the Wii's software line up. You guys are naming some games that I do consider to be pretty awesome (the Rebirth series is amazing). Even though I don't like all of the games mentioned, quite a few have popped up that I've heard are of very good quality. I've been meaning to try Cave Story Wii for some time now too.
The Wii is actually turning out to be quite the JRPG machine, but unfortunately half of them are only released in Japan at the moment and I don't have a Japanese Wii. But yeah, I mainly like JRPGs, fighters, shmups, and really unique games that don't necessarily fall into a genre.

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
I do agree with Flake on this point: if Wii U continues what Wii did in terms of releasing arcade style games on physical media, I will get on board. The Wii is the most "retro-friendly" console of the past 5 years or so. I currently have:
Castle of Shikigami III
Data East Arcade Classics
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
House of the Dead: Overkill
Gunblade NY and LA Machine Guns
Namco Museum Remix
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Samurai Shodown Anthology
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars
Ultimate Shooting Collection
There's also two other SNK compilation (Metal Slug and Arcade Classics 1), at least 2-3 other arcade light gun shooters), and a few other games that I'm sure I am forgetting (please remind me!).
There's no comparable lineup of arcade-collections or arcade-style games on any other current-gen system (with the exception of shmups on the JPN 360).

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
To be somewhat fair though, each console has had older titles available in one way or another. PSN and XBLA are simply able to offer larger games than the Virtual Console - the 360 has Dreamcast titles, for example (which are on disc too). PSN has a lot of Playstation classics, which you can then play on PS3 or PSP. The 360 and PS3 both got the Ultimate Genesis Collection, which is fairly substantial.dsheinem wrote:I do agree with Flake on this point: if Wii U continues what Wii did in terms of releasing arcade style games on physical media, I will get on board. The SNK collections aren't Wii exclusives either - they're on PS2 and PSP as well, offhand.
The Wii has also not gotten plenty of fighters as well. It's almost odd to see that it got things like Accent Core+...but like a lot of core-gamer friendly titles on it, you'd almost not realize it was there without looking online.
To a point though, outside of light gun games, little of that has to with what Nintendo has presented the Wii as. Instead, it's a result of it being a low-end machine that everyone and their mother/grandmother/etc bought. A great target for budget titles, which only need to worry about being 480p to boot.
I've bought plenty of Wii games, and have plenty more on the to-buy list - but basically none of them are there because they have motion controls (just the opposite, there are games I haven't bought because they use them).
