I can understand if they need to tone down the graphics in order to support a total of 5 screens, but maybe the system just can't stream data to more than one controller at a time. That's a shame. Something as simple as a local multiplayer game will still end up using split screen on the HDTV.elmagicochrisg wrote:Flake wrote:You might not have much to worry about, Xeo. I just read that the WiiU can only support one screen controller at a time. So that means most gameplay is going to be with your standard controllers.![]()

A lot of people are right there with you. But there is something about the Wii's software that really works for me. Most of the games are simple and arcadey, the way I like them. Also, since the machine cannot match its competitors for graphics, games developed with the Wii in mind tend to have vibrant, colorful art work that might not appeal to people who want realistic graphics but works just great for me.brunoafh wrote:Really? I have a PS3 but it's really just the Street Fighter IV machine at this point - good system but not for me. Same thing as the Wii is to a lot of people.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I don't really think there's any anti-Nintendo sentiment in this thread. Being critical of a company's decisions when you care about what they are making is just part of being a fan. I think the wide majority of us here have plenty of machines by Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Microsoft, etc. that we all play regularly, and we aren't rooting for or against any one company.
I also think the wide majority of us want to see these companies make the best possible product they can since we'll probably end up buying it either way. Hell, I own a Jaguar pretty much just so I can play Tempest 2000, but I don't think it is a very good system.
I just want Nintendo to put out a console that competes for my attention regularly (like the SNES or GCN), rather than one I only pick up on occasion (like the Wii). From what I've seen so far, that's not the case.

I agree with you, the Wii's software lineup is wonderful and unique. Speaking of unique, at least considering the systems after the SNES, the third party lineup on it outshines pretty much everything Nintendo themselves have done. I have a shockingly large library of quality third party titles for the Wii.Flake wrote:A lot of people are right there with you. Maybe you guys could enlighten me as to what these great third party games are? The only Wii games I have that I think are great are Muramasa and Tatsunko vs Capcom. I have little to no interest in the Nintendo franchises at all, so that doesn't help.

... and I agree with that as well. I keep adding to my Wii collection since I'm finding a decent amount of good games for cheap and most are 3rd party games.irixith wrote:I agree with you, the Wii's software lineup is wonderful and unique. I think the Wii gets a really bad reputation because of the shovelware; however, every console that preceded the Wii has had shovelware as well.

As a fan of light gun games, Ghost Squad, House of the Dead Collection, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and House of the Dead: Overkill were all games I enjoyed quite a bit on the Wii.brunoafh wrote:Maybe you guys could enlighten me as to what these great third party games are?
