Am I really the only one that doesn't like the controller!?...
Seriously, that's not a controller. That's a fuckin' dinosaur!...

The board exploded while I was out doing hard labor today, moved like 250 some 2x4's among other things. Feeling a little lazy to look around and catch up with the dozens of pages I've missed just today.

You didn't miss much. Nintendo announced their latest gimmick hardware. It has a gigantic controller that's basically a laptop. The regular slew of usual Nintendo suspects are getting new games. That about covers it.Xeogred wrote:The board exploded while I was out doing hard labor today, moved like 250 some 2x4's among other things. I don't think this qualifies as a 'gimmick'. There are some real gameplay applications to be had from having an extra screen like that. It's almost like a game console is finally going to have the advantages that a mulit-display gaming PC has.
I especially found it fascinating to see the developers talking about alternate views for certain games. I began to imagine a shmup with the horizontal scrolling on the TV but with a vertical view on the controller. Bullet hell in multiple dimensions!

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

On that note, you could finally have handheld games that friends can watch on the telly. Or gaming while your dad watches the game.Flake wrote: I especially found it fascinating to see the developers talking about alternate views for certain games. Many practical applications, for less than oral surgery! (Probably.)

Sir I am surprised to see you post, what with a free Pokedex game on the 3DS.YoshiEgg25 wrote:On that note, you could finally have handheld games that friends can watch on the telly. Like the PSP? Or the GB? Or the GBA?YoshiEgg25 wrote:On that note, you could finally have handheld games that friends can watch on the telly. Or gaming while your dad watches the game.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
I think Yoshi was talking about games that would ordinarily take up the entire TV. For a family that doesn't have a lot of extra TV's, this would be a great way to keep gaming while another person watches whatever they want to watch.brunoafh wrote:Like the PSP? Or the GB?
