Indeed it was, but still, it bugs me that when someone designs a controller the first place they always seem to look is the Sony PlayStation controller. I understand it's popular and people like it, not me thought I hate it, but there's no reason that they can't innovate past it. Not even Sony does, they just take the controller, paint it, slap the number of the PlayStation they're on to the top. The only changes they've made are slight and not really innovative, just simple refinements. I want something different, like the N64 controller was.MrPopo wrote:Which was just a lame derivative of the SNES controller.OmegaMaximum wrote:I'm tired of seeing systems just use some lame derivative of the PlayStation controller.

I just love using a PS2 controller for nearly all of my emulation.

Gamecube controller was pretty much an improved version of the N64, but taking out the initially strange holding it in the middle thing. If you ask me, GC was the best designed video game controller of all time. Wiimote and Nunchuck were pretty innovative even if you look past the motion control. As a normal controller there perhaps the most comfortable. Also, if you haven't noticed, the nunchuck is basically the middle of the N64 controller ripped out and given an extra button, 'course I don't see how you wouldn't if you have both consoles. The Wiimote is a fat NES controller with extra buttons while we're at it.OmegaMaximum wrote: Indeed it was, but still, it bugs me that when someone designs a controller the first place they always seem to look is the Sony PlayStation controller. In other words, Nintendo seems to like doing this in moderation, but just in moderation.(Well 'cept N64, that wasn't so moderate

Whatever the new console is, I hope it's compatible with the Gamecube controller. Nobody can ever beat the Gamecube controller.

I don't care about the controller as much as I just want them to get rid of the friend codes and fix their online service.

When I first saw the controller my only thought was new Four Swords and FFCC.
Need price, date, and confirmation if I can use my wiimote accessories on the new console - namely arcade sticks and Classic Controllers.

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe
I guess we can change the thread title to "Wii U".
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe
I already mentioned this in the e3 thread but....does anyone else think the controller looks vastly uncomfortable for long play sessions?
The abilities of the controller are neat and I want to see what ideas developers come up with for utilizing them, but I also think this thing is going to cause my hands to cramp up when I'm using it to play games more traditionally.
