I've played through Final Fantasy Tactics at least three times. I loved that game.MidnightRider wrote:Alright, sorry if it sounded condescending, but it was one of the duller experiences I forced myself to finish. That and the genre really doesn't lend itself to multiple playthroughs.Ack wrote:Hold on...

Some people actually like to play through games they like multiple times, even RPGS.
Weird, right? I know, it boggles the mind.
Personally, I find Tactical RPGs to be far more friendly to multiple playthroughs than typical RPGs. Battles are massive and often have more than one solution. There's multiple classes to invest in, which means one playthrough might have you neglecting classes that end up become your main in the next playthrough. I've also seen many Tactical RPGs that have multiple characters that are easy to miss picking up, so there's that going for it as well. Not to mention all the extremely rare or hard-to-obtain equipment, classes or skills (Genji equipment in FFT, for example. I also remember a rare sword that could only be obtained by "Catching" when a ninja throws it at you. I remember in Phantom Brave, there was a Water skill that could only be obtained by capturing an item that was in the Tutorial mission at the very beginning of the game.)
There's just a ton of different ways to play through a Tactical RPG. Each battle can be a whole new experience. I've rarely played a battle in a traditional RPG that didn't stick to a very specific code of conduct.
