But what got me started was a C64 with California Games, Zorro (some great music in that game), Pitstop II and Ghostbusters. David Crane's Ghostbusters is probably what did it. I was maybe 4, thought that game was awesome, mainly because I like the movie and TV show. From there we got an NES which my brother subsequently broke, so I saved my own money and bought a Genesis, which I still have today.

1) Ghostbusters C64
2) Probably the Genesis all together. Still a great system.

What got me started in gaming was my mom handing me down her NES and SNES, with Mario All Stars and Super Mario World. Basically the Mario series is what got me really into gaming.

What got me addicted to gaming was Paper Mario on the N64. I don't know quite exactly what about it made me go absolutely nuts, but whatever it was led me to where I am today, and I still have quite a large nostalgia for it.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

A: Plok, NBA Jam and Mario All-Stars on the SNES.
B: Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Super Smash Bros Melee on the Gamecube

A: Being born five years before it was ever released, I find it interesting that my very first console was the SNES(thus retrogaming, of course). I remember playing the games above. Plok is still considered by myself one of the greatest games I've ever played, and I owe my 2D platforming love to him and Mario mainly(DK helped).

B: Had a PS1 as the second console I owned, but my second oldest console memories are a tie between 64 and GC, one game per system: Smash Bros Melee and Ocarina, neither of which I played worth a shit. So later I had to get my own GC(also got a PS2 at this time), and I got Melee for it. Somehow SA2:B weaseled it's way into my GC collection, and it was my first true contact with sonic, save the cartoons I religiously watched back in my SNES days.
Current Consoles: SNES, GBC, Game Cube, Nintendo DSL, Wii, N64, PS2
Past Consoles: PS1, X-BOX, GBA

FAV Franchises/Games: Sonic The Hedgehog, Lock's Quest, Legend of Zelda, Megaman Battle Network, Mysims, Plok(SNES), Kirby, Ristar, Sly Cooper, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Smash Bros, Okami, Tekken, Super Mario, Wario Land, Golden Sun, Streets of Rage and Elite Beat Agents.

It started with the Atari 2600 which initially got me interested. WHen I got my Nes in 1987 then that's when I became obsessed and here I am today! 8)
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

The first game I remember playing a fair bit of was Defender on the Apple II. There were a few others I can think of - Frogger, the original Test Drive, etc.

A few years later I wound up with an NES, but most of the game I had on it were random purchases by relatives for Christmas and the like, so I wound up not actually playing many of the classics until a bit later (and still haven't played some of them).

Obsession? I don't know that I could pinpoint one particular game. It was more when I started having a little money to spend on games, started reading gaming magazines, that sort of thing. My dad, while not a gamer, pushed more towards PC gaming after he bought the family 386. My brothers and I teamed up to buy an SNES and later a Genesis.

I guess I became interested with Duck Hunt in the very early 90s. must have only been 2 or 3 though, so it was more of a toy than anything else. interest later grew when I got my hands on a Playstation and a copy of Twisted Metal 2 (mistakenly assumed for a racing game). obsession didn't kick in until Final Fantasy 7 came out. my last few years of elementary school are filled with memories of blanking out all day to pass time until I could get home and work on leveling up some more.
