Welcome to every post he's ever written.
Jerks.
That's was a bit mean. Here's my two cents. You have some interesting things to say in that post benderx, but you need to learn how to organize your thoughts better. It's just seems like a wall of text with a bunch of random thoughts thrown together like some stream of consciousness
Indeed, i have no idea where the Kanye West part came from, nor do I see how Gantz and Ghost in the Shell are similar to The Matrix (or to each other for that matter) despite them all being sci-fi.
Nor do I understand how Japan's fascination with western culture has anything to do with whether a live action Akira starring Keanu Reeves would be a good idea.

For me, the movie is great for the first 20-30 minutes and the last 10-20 minutes, but it totally drags in the middle. I love Akira, but I almost always doze off in the middle.
I definitely think you should check it out. For one, there's a lot more going on in the manga which explains vital characters which are almost entirely left out of the film, or are only included in pale mockeries of their manga forms. Plus plot-wise, the film is only a rough version of the first half of the series and the last few pages. I actually don't like to go back and watch the film now, even if I do consider it a landmark in animation.

This is probably why I haven't seen more anime movies. Since almost all anime seems based off of mangas anyway, tv series and OVAs just do more justice to the source material.....well, not always but you know what I mean
I heard X was a bastardization of the original story as well, but it's another movie people loved for its style, visuals and action

Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.
Kayne West literally ruined Akira and Daft Punk song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". He deserves no credit for the remix song or music video. The Song didn't even need his lyrics because it was already a good. The music video is called "Stronger".
You took too long, now your candy's gone. That's What happens. Bkowwwww. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

I think I've still got the soundtrack, and a few other releases by the group that did Akira's soundtrack, sitting around somewhere if you'd like me to upload them for you.

If I ever mention Morning Musume/Momusu/Aichan (Takahashi Ai) and you wonder who/what I'm talking about, or if you're curious about who the girl in my avatar is...here and here

Seems like the more hate Kanye gets, the bigger he gets. His last album got rave reviews. Oh well, he's not quite as annoying as that Lady Gaga bitch. Apparently, she makes music. Though whenever I hear about her in the news(which is CONSTANTLY), it has nothing to do with music at all
Guess she's the new Madonna
