Actually scratch smb, I think Double Dragon got me completely hooked.

What got me interested? Probably Balloon Fight, played at a friend's house. After that I have memories of playing Space Invaders and Popeye on an Atari 2600 I acquired. I really loved playing Popeye. When I got an NES and started spending a lot of time playing Super Mario Bros and Double Dragon, I had definitely gone past the point of no return. It was like buying an NES and those two games made it official, I was a gamer.

Games that got me into gaming:

Jackal, 8 eyes, Legacy of the Wizard and Double Dragon for NES are my earliest gaming memories. A strange bunch of games indeed.

Games that got me obsessed:

None. It was my parents strong anti-video gaming stance that got me really into the gaming. The more I was discouraged from doing it, the more I wanted to game.

Super Mario World got me interested, but Chrono Trigger hooked me for life.

This thread makes me feel old.
Frogger for the Atari 2600 got me interested. I just loved getting run over and hearing the "splat" noise.
Super Mario Brothers got me obsessed, tho I was already pretty much there anyway.
