I'll look for you as well if I remember to. I have to do a liquor run tomorrow or the next day, and there's a GS in the same plaza.

@the7k ...you share my love of Darkstalkers. I recently realized that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was quite similar. (Trick?) Question: Will I love it?

Who wouldn't love JoJo? You'd have to be hollow inside.

Everybody, ease up on SplashChick. I really don't want anyone getting into a fight on my behalf.
Ack wrote:Quick question for Mr. Eco. Since you've had a rough time with 2D fighters, would you consider 3D ones? You mentioned playing several Soul Caliburs and didn't specify if that MK game was 2D or 3D. I'm just wondering if that type of fighter is entirely out with you, or if you'd be willing to give them a chance (including older ones, as you might enjoy the Power Stone games).
I don't remember which Mortal Kombat game it was but I do remember it was on the PS2 and was 3D. Also I had played several Tekken games which were 3D. I'm not completely opposed to 3D fighting games but I've yet to play one I remotely enjoyed. I'm open to the possibility I guess.
the7k wrote:Most of what I recommended doesn't have online play (excluding GGPO, or living in Japan in the case of KOFXI), but who cares? Why play with a bunch of foul-mouthed guttersnipes when you can play with real people? If you have X360, I've heard that the netcode for Neo Geo Battle Coliseum is really good - it plays enough like KOFXI that I'd recommend it, even if it isn't quite as good.
Something I should have mentioned is that I can't really play local multiplayer in games. Me and my friends have very conflicting schedules between school and work and rarely get to visit each other (Another reason why SplashChick's statement wasn't as outlandish as you all may think). Also the "foul-mouthed guttersnipes" thing isn't really a problem for me since I discovered the mute button. :lol:

Although it's not set in stone I should mention I'm most likely getting Blazblue: Continuum Shift. Though I give you all my promise, I will check out Guilty Gear if I come to like Blazblue half as much as I think I'm gonna. And past that Darkstalkers also looks pretty cool. Is that PSOne or PS2?
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

I can tell you that the 3D Mortal Kombats (so the PS2 ones) are some of the worst ones!

@MrEco
Darkstalkers is on PS1, Saturn, DC, and has a compilation on PS2.

@noiseredux
If you like 2D fighters, it's more or less a guarantee you'll like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It's fucking awesome.

@MrEco: Darkstalkers is probably my favorite 2D fighting series. Though I'm biased since it combines Street Fighter style with morbid shit.

@Bruno: you had me at "it's fucking awesome."
