Amazon Kindle
Re: Amazon Kindle
The price of books is outrageous. How can they sell electronic books for the same or almost the same price?
Thanks everyone...

Re: Amazon Kindle
One thing I have started using mine for is taking the notes from work that I need to memorize, copying them into word 07, exporting it as a pdf, and then putting them on the kindle. It is alittle roundabout, but it serves me well.
If I ever get around to setting up an RSS feed reader itll be even more useful.

For paperback books, cost of printing the physical book is small in comparison to the royalties/payments/profit made by the publishing companies. To that arguement, it's like saying that Steam games should ALWAYS be cheaper than retail, which is not the case.Gnashvar wrote:The price of books is outrageous. Now for textbooks, they are usually cheaper on Amazon as a ebook, because of the number of pages, graphs, etc. It is worth it knowing you don't have to carry around 4 textbooks at once, but it will bite you in the ass when you realize that they are also cheaper because they cannot be resold.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Prices are controlled by the publishers. It's the same situation as Steam for new releases. Now Steam games tend to get cheaper over time, but that's because of how short the tail is on your average video game compared to the tail you see on a book.Gnashvar wrote:The price of books is outrageous. I hear Valve is nagging publishers all the time to slash prices too.
