Racketboy Steam Group: Unreal Tournament (4/29)
Re: Racketboy Steam Group: Unreal Tournament (4/29)
Aw crap. There's meeting I have to go to now that runs until 12:30pm. I'll be showing up late to my own party. You guys will have to start without me.

When does the server go up? Is it up?J T wrote:Aw crap. There's meeting I have to go to now that runs until 12:30pm. I'll be showing up late to my own party. You guys will have to start without me.
Re: Racketboy Steam Group: Unreal Tournament (4/29)
OK, so this thing seems to have turned into an epic fail.
I had to go into a 2 hour meeting that ran over time (I also had to change the IP because I was in a different location), then got wrangled into a 30 minute phone call, which I didn't attend to very well while trying to get things set up while a few racketteers were still there, then everyone was gone by the time I was able to do anything because they were frustrated from not being able to get things going. Ugh!
Sorry guys, I really thought I would have that noon time free, but I suddenly became hugely popular. I had to away another person taht wanted me to be somewhere at that time too.

This is why we need multiple events in a day. That gives more people options for games and times.
Older. Not wiser.

I've got the server thing set up. Currently, you should see a server called Racketboy in the available games list.
If anyone is still available with this game, send me a Steam chat invite.

As I mentioned to Dsh, I think this would be much more successful with an evening or weekend timeslot.

Yeah, there was no way I was going to make it to a noon PST timeslot, even if I DID have the game.MrPopo wrote:As I mentioned to Dsh, I think this would be much more successful with an evening or weekend timeslot.

That generally doesn't work so well for me. If you guys want, I can create the event, but I can't attend it. Someone else would have to set themself up as the server, which wasn't that hard to do.MrPopo wrote:As I mentioned to Dsh, I think this would be much more successful with an evening or weekend timeslot.
There is info here:

I didn't have to do every step laid out in that link. Like, I didn't have to edit my .ini files, for example. I was able to get a Racketboy server listed in the main list just by using the menu options within the game, punching in my IP address and port, and making it a dedicated server. What you will need to know though is that you then control the game setting, bans, etc. from the following web address: http://69.91.152.44/ServerAdmin/

Out of curiousity, why are weekends and evenings bad for you?J T wrote:That generally doesn't work so well for me. If you guys want, I can create the event, but I can't attend it.
