Twisted Metal did this. I only know because my best friend in 1996 rented the game and broke a triangle shaped chuck out of the disc putting it back into the shitty rental case. He (or his stepfather, whatevs) was forced to pay retail for the game. It was unplayable in his PlayStation so I said I would take it for some reason. And even though I spent those years (95-01) still playing Master System and Genesis games I still could listen to the Twisted Metal soundtrack on my Panasonic ShockWave Metal discman and pretend I was playing games in the modern times.

Not sure if someone mentioned this but Duke Nukem 3D works too.
We used to listen to this awesome soundtrack all the time when I was younger. I was so badass.

I'm pretty sure nobody has posted The 7th Guest yet. It didn't use redbook audio for in-game music, but disc 2 had a 35-minute redbook track that was kind of cool and kind of corny.

My favorites:
Monkey Island for Sega CD--Best way to get the music from the first game, and good stuff in general.
Rocket Jockey-PC- Best surfer music of any game.
Quake- I just like Nine Inch Nails.

Carmageddon (PC at least) has instrumental versions of Fear Factory tunes on the disc.

I don't know about the first Monster Rancher, but if you actually try playing MR2, its an incredibly deep (and very good) game.noiseredux wrote:OMG I loved Monster Rancher based solely on the gimmick of sticking audio CD's in it. So much fun.
That being said, whenever I see a random CD anywhere in my house, my first thought is "I'd better keep this disc just to see what it gives me in MR2".
On topic, I lost the actual CD a while ago, but I'm 99% sure you can put Warcraft 2 in a CD player and it plays the music from the game (which is awesome, by the way).
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

I found that Saturn warning track I was talking about:
Sega Saturn - Data Warning.mp3

The funny thing about that is that audio CD players were changed so they wouldn't play the data tracks anymore. I remember reading about stuff like that and the only CD player I could that would 'play' the data track as noise was the old ass Teac unit I got in high school that had not only track but index skipping as well.

Back when I first got a Sega CD, my dad's friend wanted to try a game out on his entertainment unit's CD player. It broke the thing - literally fried it. Those warnings are there for a reason!
