No, I'm not an idiot. Two things: Cause and effect, and vigilantism.
Sony is doing some things I don't like. You think I'm applauding the constant updates or the liberal interpretation of the EULA Sony has? No. But guess what? The pendulum swings back and in this next console iteration it looks like Nintendo will be in a position to supplant Sony as the primary platform for Japanese software. Sony may not be getting much more money from me in the future. And other consumers, if they are bothered enough by Sony, will move in that direction as well. Or Sony, sensing this, will knock their bullshit off.
Cause and effect. These things tend to themselves.
On to the topic of vigilantism - having already spent money on a Sony product and having doubts about whether I should do so again, who are these jerk offs to further deny me use of what I have already paid for. Consumer rights (and all rights in general) are up to the courts and legislatures to decide, not some entitled and egotistical twats who should find better outlets for their talents.
Moderator or not, Niode, don't call me an idiot. I am always willing to talk to you reasonably, even when we disagree. Treat me with the same respect I show you, dammit.
