Dude, that was great! Thanks for pointing them out.aaron wrote:check out Agony's "The First Defiance." underrated and virtually unknown swedish thrash.
(these youtube videos are great because the singer leaves detailed comments on all of them about the recording of the record and his time in the band. really interesting.)
Thanks, I'll be checking out the ones I don't know. I've heard of Heathen, but never listened to them. But this track definitely has me looking for more.Xeogred wrote:Haha, great stuff dude. I've never gotten too into the big Bay Area bands to be honest, not a huge fan of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, or whatnot, maybe crazy of me but I like the faster, dirtier, or darker stuff usually. Some that come to mind... Artillery, Coroner, Deathrow, Destructor, Flots & Jets, Holy Terror, Overkill (their debut), early Metal Church, Onslaught, Pariah, Rigor Mortis, Satan (their second album), Torture, Toxik, Vendetta... haha just some random ones.
Tankard and Venom are definitely awesome in my book. I even don't mind late 80's / early 90's Venom, which seems kind of hit or miss to some people.
Gotta agree with you about Sodom and Kreator, Kreator especially ... not sure if I like them that much, but some of Sodom is pretty cool. Same with Destruction.
You a fan of Heathen? Huge fan myself, the one Bay Area-ish thrash band I actually like a lot and I thought their newest album kicked tons of ass. A comeback done well.
Guess I'll listen to that now... so here!
Heathen - Silent Nothingness
Oh, I suppose I should admit that my interest in Kreator really tends towards their most recent stuff. For instance, I enjoy their Hordes of Chaos album. But maybe I'm just weird. Then again I listen to some of the more modern revival stuff, bands like Gama Bomb, Bonded by Blood, Municipal Waste, Evile, and Violator.
