I know, but it is a little annoying how more than 3 enemies on the screen causes serious slowdown on a Wii. It's gamebreaking.brunoafh wrote:Yeah, I guess, it just seems odd to nitpick a game that came out in 1990's performance issues on a retro game forum.

Re: Your Hardest Games
I've always had trouble with the early Wipeout games. Especially Wipeout 3 as the tracks are a bit more narrow than in the original and in XL. I just can't really get a feel for any of the ships, I'm lucky to place second. Which is really fustrating, considering I have very little trouble with Wipeout HD even on the hardest difficulty setting using Rapier or Phantom class.
Other than that, there really isn't much. I'm absolutely terrible at Castlevania SOTN though. At least I've actually beaten it. Can't ever seem to finish Rapier class in Wipeout 3, I got very close yesterday though.
I typically have no trouble with most "hard" games... except SHMUPS, but, I don't own any. Although I'm looking into getting Einhander, because, well it just looks really cool even though I don't care for the genre.

It's such a great game isn't it?RyaNtheSlayA wrote: I'm absolutely terrible at Castlevania SOTN though. At least I've actually beaten it.
Re: Your Hardest Games
Anything starting with 'Mega' and ending with 'Man'.
As far as sonic, I think sonic 2 is pretty easy. It has some annoying parts (why does metropolis go on for so damn long?) but I think the last boss is easy. Get him to land on the left side of the screen and hit his chest as he lands and his body swings down. If you're not playing as Knuckles you can smack him after he does the 'walking forward' move and gets ready to take off, but if you are you'll probably smack into his spiked hands.
I think the sonic 3 final boss is a lot harder and the sonic cd special stages are hard as hell.
Never had a problem with lives in sonic 3 and knuckles, all my saves have about 99. . .

Re: Your Hardest Games
But it was worse than MM2, and MM4 didn't have any slowdown, so they obviously messed up somewhere.brunoafh wrote:Yeah, I guess, it just seems odd to nitpick a game that came out in 1990's performance issues on a retro game forum.SplashChick wrote:It is annoying though, I have to admit. It's one of the reasons why MM4 is IMO the best in the series next to 9.
I agree though, Mega Man 4 is a very good game.

Oh hell yes it is. It's now one of my favorite games of all time. I was recently lucky enough to pick up a black label PS1 copy at a thrift store for 10 bucks. I actually beat it on my PSP with Dracula X Chronicals though. Too bad I hate Rondo with a passion. I could never force myself past the 4th stage.Markell1991 wrote:It's such a great game isn't it?RyaNtheSlayA wrote: I'm absolutely terrible at Castlevania SOTN though. That's very strange, do you like the original side-scrolling Castlevania games?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Too bad I hate Rondo with a passion. I could never force myself past the 4th stage.

I haven't played them all yet, but, I really really liked Bloodlines. Castlevania 3 was pretty damn good too.brunoafh wrote:That's very strange, do you like the original side-scrolling Castlevania games?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Too bad I hate Rondo with a passion. Re: Your Hardest Games
I think SOTN is one of the easiest games out there, haha...
That is strange you don't like Rondo of Blood though, at least the music completely rocks? But yeah I might put Super CV4 above it myself in terms of the old classic styled games. I liked that one a lot, and Death was a beast in that one.
