Right now I'm leaning more toward the PSP because I just noticed that Phantasy Star Portable 2 (Online) is on it!

Has anyone played Phantasy Star Portable 2 yet? Is it as good as the original one on the Dreamcast?

The ds has Phantasy Star Zero though ;)

It's actually quite excellent. If you loved PSU or PSO back in the day, you should feel right at home here. If you have a PS3, you can use ad-hoc party for easy online multiplayer too.

If you are considering on-line or local ad-hoc play, then you would want to stick to the PSP, as the DS requires you to register your friend code every time for most on-line games (could never get the Onion Knight for DS FF III :( ).

But back to the budget, are you considering buying a used console, or do you like the smell of a sealed box?

I don't see how this is still a discussion, just make the decision for yourself.

For ME, it has always been the psp.

I'm going to go with a brand new console, since both pretty cheap these days!

Just remember that whatever system you go with; get some screen protectors... Especially for the touch screen on a ds.

At your budget of USD $150, you barely can get by with the PSP, are you trying to find cheap Memory Cards? A screen protector is recommended for both systems, but that's an extra cost you may not have.
