Just got Brawl. It's Horrible!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Why are you pressing up then? No one does that. Press X or Y. If you aren't using a Gamecube controller....start.
I use the up to jump way of doing things and it's always worked for me. But Cerulean, why press up to jump when you can do as Mozgus says and press X/Y?
but why use x/y when I could just press b or a? why the hell isnt x/y attack in the first place.

Ive finally gotten used to the control the games good. I wouldnt say better than galaxy or corruption but its damn good. one of the best reasons to by a wii.

wyatt wrote:Not trying to be an elitist jerk. I have played all three games quite a bit and I find the idea that any are a chaotic mess a loser's excuse. The small amount of randomness of items and stage reformation doesn't throw the entire game into chaos. Of course there is nothing chaotic about the fighters themselves, they will do exactly what the buttons you press tell them to every time. Many people out there could beat anyone on this board a hundred times in a row and barely take a scratch, a chaotic system doesn't lend itself towards such a state.

By the way, if you cannot handle the adaptability of it, you can customize the matches to remove all that. Takes about 10 seconds.
Thaaaaaank you.

Now let me go through this again...

Mozgus, you have never played the game, yet you say that it isn't the game that's been ruined, its the players. They just don't get it. And you agree that "the game is a chaotic mess' is a looser's excuse" when you have nothing to go by but videos on the internet. Sure you've played plenty of Melee, but as I have stressed above, This is not Melee, it is not "improved melee". It's as different from Melee as Melee is to the original Smash, but in all the wrong ways.

You have never played the game, but you seem to have a lot to say on this issue. Play the game, if you love it, fine. But don't tell me and the others we have no argument and there's nothing wrong with the game. We've played it.[/b]

Let's kill two birds with one stone then, shall we? If you hate it so much. Sell me your Wii and Brawl for a cheap price. That way you can re-coop some of your loss, and I my praises for it will be "valid" in your eyes.

Until then, I've studied it, I've watched far too many videos of it, I've gathered a lot of opinions. I have as good an understanding of it as anyone who actually played it. I do this for countless games that I can't immediately acquire, and every time I eventually do acquire them years later, my predictions have always been right on the money. We live in an age when we don't necessarily have to PLAY a game to know what it's like.

Yes yes, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if they state theres as fact it is still their opinion. Personally my favorite part of it is the part that is considered the weakest. But I do love killing those goofy looking baddies in the single player.

More importantly everyone seems to be missing out on the fact that the game of the year came out today. House of the Dead 2&3.

If only that were true. There's been many of times where a game was praised across the board, I watched many videos and read many articles, only to get it in my hands and find myself disappointed with it (Odin Sphere I'm looking at you!). I will agree that in a lot of cases, a game can be judged objectively and that there may be games I don't like, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are not good.

Subjectively will always play a factor in games and just because you think you know a game by reading and watching stuff about it, doesn't mean it'll always be like that once play time comes around. Either way, not liking Brawl does not make that opinion wrong, just different from the norm. Although, the fact that you haven't played the game, does make your opinion less credible at this point.

Yeah Mozgus, and I've watched enough Nascar on tv that I pretty much know what it's like to drive one of those cars just as much as any of the drivers out there. You have no point in your post.

Are you actually going somewhere with your argument, or are you just wasting my time?

You want to take me up on my offer or not? If you're going to keep the game, then you clearly don't think it's horrible. You're just making a big stink for attention. Don't change the subject.

Well I'd rather stay open to objectiveness even after I've decided to purchase something, than already convince myself something is flawless without even playing it.
