Re: DS or PSP!?!
You forgot Breath of Fire 3 and Popolocrois on the psp
I also include all the Ys games in this category because while they are action/adventure games, they have a huge amount of rpg elements. Also, the music is just badass!

The DS would still win

Re: DS or PSP!?!
Personally I like the PSP better. It feels more like a real portable console... something between a Playstation 2 and a Sega Dreamcast. The DS is more like a Gameboy Advance 2.0. Plus with custom firmware you can play NES and Sega Genesis games on the PSP.
However, both systems are good so you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to eventually get both.

Re: DS or PSP!?!
I've had both and I liked the DS more...it felt more like a handheld that I could play on the go. The PSP was kind of like a mini portable console, and I would always end up watching cut scenes when I only had like two minutes before I had to run...but if you're looking for RPG's, you might like that better.
Re: DS or PSP!?!
I'd have to disagree with you there. The DS only has Final Fantasy III, IV, FFTA2 and a bunch of random spin offs. The III remake is... decent. The IV remake is total crap. FFTA2 is ok, but pretty pale in comparison to the original FFT. The spin offs are give or take.skyknight wrote:For SE's Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, DS is the one you want.
The PSP has:
FF I and II (the definitive versions)
FF IV Complete (definitive version of FF IV + The After Years)
FF Tactics: War of the Lions (enhanced port)
FF VII, VIII, IX (through PSN PS1 classics)
Crisis Core
The Dissidia series
I don't think there's even competition for which handheld does FF better.

Besides everything you mentioned, the psp has the Persona series. Persona 3 may have been the best rpg of the last 5 years.brunoafh wrote:I'd have to disagree with you there. DS because it has Pokemon, and an added plus is that it can play all the countless GBA games out there.
Although I do consider the PSP to be an overall better system.

Re: DS or PSP!?!
Well, you gotta take into consideration that you can play GBA games on a DS so you can have FF I through VI but you'll be lacking 7 through 9 and the PSP exclusives.brunoafh wrote:I'd have to disagree with you there. But the PSP versions are seemingly the definitive versions (until they want more money and make another remake).

So own both a PSP and a DS.
And as a side note, you can play Ys I, II, III, VI, and VII on the PSP while the DS only has I & II. (Unfortunately you'd still have to import IV and V no matter what if you really wanted to play them.

Re: DS or PSP!?!
Emulation allows both systems to play all the old games, which the psp does stronger. Also, the psp can play ps1 games perfectly like final fantasy 7 or xenogears. Those games make the gba look like shit, no offense. I like the gba.BRIK wrote:DS because it has Pokemon, and an added plus is that it can play all the countless GBA games out there.
