Damn, I was actually looking forward to ModNation Racers! Is it any good, other than the loading times?

It's ok. Nothing brilliant. I just got so frustrated with the damn loading times I had to stop playing it. It would be perfectly playable but the load times just totally kill it. I don't usually mind loading times but when you have to load at the beginning of a race, and at the end, it's kinda annoying. Some races are like 2 or 3 minutes long, and you're waiting 2 minutes to get in and 2 minutes to get out. Way too frustrating. So you're spending like 66% of your time staring at a loading screen. Not acceptable in a modern game.

Let's not let the 720p or 1080p boggle down the discussion.

Flower is still a masterpiece, that I think Roger Ebert should have played before writing that dreaded article.

There are other PSN games that are good to look at, and I think the Shattered will groove you with its music.

Actually, I loved ModNation Racers. Played it for about 2-3 months straight. Loading times never really got to me, and I'm a fairly impatient man. (You can see some of my creations in my sig.)

Granted, I dunno if there is a reason to play it now, considering almost everybody moved on.

Super Sonic Aerobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars is amazing. As is Pixeljunk Eden.

I got a PS3 slim from Amazon before Christmas and finally hooked it up a few days ago. Yeah, I will echo Niode's complaint that they should have included an HDMI cable. I used the composite and was pretty impressed how good it looked. I guess the Samsung TV has pretty good upscalers built-in.

I'm looking forward to using it as a HD media center and to play some PS3 games.
