I agree. It's also much more confortable if you need to look up something.

Indeed, gives me something to read in the bathroom and I can look up something in the manual while in the game if I need to.

In a PC game I might be able to ALT-TAB out to look at a PDF or online, or maybe I have to save, then load up a tutorial and might not be able to just right to what I need to know.

On a console, I'd probably have to wait until a save point or lose the last 10 minutes to load up a tutorial. Or if there was a help thing I could go into while the game is paused I have to clunkily look through it with a controller and reading lots of text on a TV.

I take so long to play games sometimes that I have to look in the manual so that I can figure out how to play again. It would be annoying to have to look it up online.

I hope game companies become more eco-friendly in terms of energy consumption, by which I mean they start making more games that don't require me to buy a power hungry videocard and a new power supply just to look beautiful.

You must of collected a hell of a lot of cans.

Manuals are nothing like they use to be, they're usually less than 10 pages and printed in black a white these days.
I remember the manuals from Gran Turismo 2 on PS1, as well as a normal manual (with all the controls and things like that) it also came with a whole extra manual that was solely dedicated to driving technique. You would never see something like that now.

I received my copy of Mechwarrior 3 from an Amazon seller yesterday and it came with a nice thick manual detailing how to pilot your mech, plus a suppliment describing the mechs in the game and a quick reference card to the commands. It was awesome.

Hell yeah, I remember having my mind blown away when I opened up my Gold Edition box and finding that manual. Having that manual that said "Restricted Access" made my twelve year old mind go: "Now this is some serious shit!".
