Xbox(original, not 360) Mod

Ok, I have my new & improved Xbox Mod yesterday! Love it! I'm still learning to navigate through it, which I'll get the hang of by the weekend I'm sure. Was power light always an orange-yellow color? I haven't played the original Xbox in so long I forgot. I think I'm just used to the 360 w/ the green light and praying that it never becomes red or any other color. Hopefully it's ok though.

How much space does saving your progress on the games take up? I'm probably not going to be putting movies on the hard drive so I'm hoping I'll have enough space for saving on the Roms and there's some Xbox titles installed as well. It's 160gb. I didn't have the spare cash for 500gb like I originally hoped for.

The orange ring is normal for a softmod. IIRC you can configure it in the dashboard. Not sure where the option is though, poke around.

Game saves don't take much space at all. I believe they live on partition E, and most of your space is probably on partition F, so I wouldn't worry about it.

As long as this thing is not crapping out on me, especially since it's a mod now.

If I Remember Correctly. I have a hard modded box and a soft modded box, and I use the hard modded one more often, so I'm going on memory.

I had a feeling after I thought about it that it was an acronym for something and thanks for the 80s memory, GI Joe rocks!

How do I know what kind of Mod I have then? I didn't realize I could just configure this power supply light. It plays fine, at least the games running of the Xbox itself do. I haven't tried everything out yet though. I mostly played the emulators. I'm sure it's fine though, just panicked a little when I noticed the orange power light.

I don't know about the other dashes, but XBMC has the option to change the power light in its settings panel. You can choose between green, orange, red, a constant psychedelic rotation of the three, or even turn it off.

I'd be lost without google! Usually I do that before I post on forums if I'm unsure of something but I was in a crazy rush at the time so I couldn't.

I've always wanted to mod my xbox, but the only method I'd feel safe doing, (as I remember when I hacked my PS2 I basically killed it with my constant tweaking of the laser), is via a action replay or USB method.

It would be nice to back up one or two of the 90 odd xbox games I have.
(The two in 1 Jet set radio, sega GT disc would be a main candidate as both copies I have are in poor condition and one barely works...)
