That's what SMB would look like if it would've been on the Atari 2600... I also saw one recently of what Super Mario Galaxy would've looked like had it been on the SNES.
Atari 2600 (AV mod), NES, SNES (region switch for PAL), Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii (D2CKey), PSX (Stealth V), PS2 (independence exploit w/ 160 GB HDD), Goldstar 3DO, Philips CD-i, Dreamcast, Saturn (racketboy's chip), Sega Genesis 2 + CD2 + 32X + Power Base Converter, Game Gear.

This is just a sprite hack of the NES ROM most likely. They said the 2600 couldn't have done sounds or text like that, but I also say 2600 couldn't have done physics like that. They were very complex for the time.

now check out this Atari 2600 makeover of the original game.
Yeah like Moz said, just a sprite hack most likely. On top of the physics issues, the 2600 couldn't handle that many independent simultaneous sprites either.

Yeah, it would have been one crappy game.
I think 2600 Pac-Man would have been far better.

but is it really just a rom hack? I couldnt catch everything they were saying when they were talking about using the fireball in 1-2, made it sound like there was ALOT more involved in this than just replacing textures.
