What do you consider "Retro"
Re: What do you consider "Retro"
Any system that is no longer officially made or supported is retro to me. The definition of retro is not very precise.

Re: What do you consider "Retro"
I almost want to call my Gamecube retro nowadays just because no one seems to talk about them or have one around me even though they have stacks of them at my local Gamestops. They don't have many of the games unfortunately, but they have piles of the cubes. I'm more inclined to join the Dreamcast and back crowd though.

Every time I hear the Dreamcast or anything newer described as "retro" I feel really old.

Anything not normally carried by Gamestop is retro, in my book.

Re: What do you consider "Retro"
That's kind of my gauge as well. If its at Gamestop, its still relatively easy to find with the inventory locator tool on their website. If its not carried by Gamestop, it gets much harder to find and I start looking at thrift shops, pawn shops, and garage sales which is the true mark of retro.avrame wrote:As sad as it is for me to admit it:
Retro to me is anything 'not sold at Gamestop'

Re: What do you consider "Retro"
I'm in agreement with most of the other posters on this thread. Last-generation and before it is considered retro. I'd even consider PS2 retro at this point. There's nothing of any value coming out for it anymore and most stores are clearing out PS2 hardware and games at rock bottom prices.
So in other words: PS2, XBox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, GBA and all that came before them are considered retro in my book.
