Update!

new fun toys include a redstone thingy that repeats, delays, and acts as a diode, half-blocks for wood, cobblestone, and sandstone, a bed that skips to daytime when you sleep in it, and will eventually act as a spawn point, and some fun stuff like smooth lighting, a new save format, being able to name your worlds, and unlimited worlds.

Diodes? Oh dear. I'm going to be in some trouble now.

I don't know how I feel about that. Part of what makes the game so great is trying to survive the night. While I have sometimes wished for this, if they provide an easy way out, that could kill the core of the gameplay.

I am trying to find whats the hype all about?
the graphics style seems to hurt the eyes
and as far as i understand its a 3d world and u can build stuff but its pountless , its not like you have to achieve something

I thought this kind of games existed for the longest time and little big planet is just one of those games, I get a feeling that little big planet is maybe a better game

If you could tell me whats the hype abput I would appreciate it
whats so special?

The graphics aren't the point, and the blocky style is actually helpful at times when building and determining the necessary size for something.

The main point of Minecraft is that you create your own objective. Complaining about no overarching goal is like saying Garry's Mod is bad because you just build things, or Simcity is bad because there's no ending. The fact it's so open-ended is why there's so much hype.

EDIT: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/22/minec ... resscraft/

I find this inevitable, but deplorable.
