Purchased? I'll agree with everyone else here and say that was a foolish move. They are EASILY downloadable for free with a google search, as are the emulators to play them. There is NO such thing as plug and play emulators. The guys has NO license to sell those. It is 100% illegal in EVERY known country (yes, even China, even if it is common there). The guy you bought from IS a criminal and is prosecutable in his country with possible jail sentences. Who was he? I say report him.Evildeadmanwalking77 wrote:What's up guys? I just purchased 3 dvd roms that have arcade ROMs, NES, SNES, Genesis(and 32x), GB, GB color, GBA, ROMs on them (MAME) from a seller on ioffer.com and he claims you just plug in and play....
Ok, rant that you've heard before is over!
Others have said that a 1TB (or 500GB) drive would suit you, and I agree. Just put everything on there. Try Zophar.net for a bit of emulator research.
Did you at least get some Turbografx-16/PC Engine stuff?
Of course it is illegal. How is it not? You are being paid money to supply someone with stolen (pirated) property. Authorities will not care if it is "for the service and to cover shipping." It is STILL selling stolen property.Wait was the auction just a rom burning service? I don't think that is illegal. I used to do that back in the day with Neo Geo roms. You just pay someone $5 for a full set and they'd burn the disc and mail it to you. The payment was for the service and to cover shipping.
Ethical? THAT is up for debate in some cases. ILLEGAL? Not up for debate.
To Evildeadmanwalking77, don't let us telling you that you did a bad thing by buying discs of roms being a bad thing put you off from this site. Some of us (well, me) do some off harshly, but we are definitely glad to have you here and will try our best to keep helping you out with your retro gaming. Welcome!
