That is one of the major concerns of the Micro, can you find the faceplate that you want? Nintendo never did release spares of the 20th Anniv. faceplates, so you gotta be careful not scratch the surface!

If you take care of it (e.g, don't put it in your pocket with keys), you shouldn't ever have to replace it. When I travel and want to put it my backpack, I usually put the micro in a sock for protection.

One of my micros has a noticeable small scratch on the faceplate screen (I bought it that way) but once it's on, you don't notice the scratch because the screen is very bright.
