Thats just scraping the iceburg with a kitchen fork of how many more there are.
Cool to see an old school fan. How about City Hunter? Gunbuster?

If you liked Midnight Eye Goku look into Space Adventure Cobra, they're both adaptations from manga by the same author, main characters are kind of similar but Cobra is a bit more Bond.

I second that, it is my all time favorite.

oh and avoid OVA 3, its bad.
Just make sure you watch it on dvd. I watched a few episodes on cartoon network and they sanitized some of the really funny, sex based comedy to keep it kid friendly. That's part of what made that series so damn fun

Some other stuff that I just thought of:

Blue Gender
Blue Submarine
Perfect Blue(movie)
Ninja Scroll(movie)
Castle of Cagliostro(movie)
Bubblegum Crisis 2040(great english dub)

I will add my support for the CLASSIC Record of Lodoss War OVA and Iria Zeiram was a fun series for its time. There is this one other series I can't remember but keep picturing it my head....ah, that's it. Escaflowne

Also, I loved the Ah! My Goddess OVA. The movie was cool too. There was a cool movie called X that I once saw, but I have heard that the tv series is much better

It is much shorter (26 episodes), and is very similar in concept, but is in many ways superior to it. I loved watching it, and it was the anime that really got me into the genre.
There is a second season out already called Shakugan no Shana Second and i think a movie also.

Judging from you first post I'm assuming you're looking for action series that aren't ridiculously long. I don't blame you. 100+ episodes can be overwhelming, especially if you're planning on buying any of them. So I'll just list the ones I own that fit closely.

I'd like to second the nomination of Vampire Hunter D. There's a series in the planning stages last I checked, but the movies are great. I'd suggest watching the most recent one first, as people seem to enjoy it more than the first.

I'd also like to second Berserk, Mai Hime, and Rurouni Kenshin. They're all pretty action packed and reasonable time wise, just ignore season 3 of Kenshin. It's skipable. But that's what happens when you divert from the original story-line  . Berserk and Mai Hime should be pretty affordable too if you're planning on buying them. Yay for condensed box sets. :D

I've also enjoyed Wolf's Rain, Trinity Blood, Samurai 7, ROD, and Noein. I'd check out the OVA of ROD before the series. It'll give you an idea of what to expect from the series, but it's not has heavy on the comedy as the series is. And Chevalier d'Éon was excellent, though not in the same vein as the rest. There is action, but it's more political, supernatural, history-esque than anything. Still worth checking out though.

If you haven't already, then you should also check out the Hayao Miyazaki movies. Grave of the Fireflies and Princess Mononoke have been mentioned, but they're all excellent.

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions! Gantz, Requiem from the Darkness, Chrono Crusade, Blood+, Shana, Outlaw Star and Trinity Blood sound like exactly what I want. Can't wait to see them!

I got my niece all the Disney dubbed Miyazaki movies for Christmas. She watches them constantly.

I'll definitely be getting Gantz
Requiem from the Darkness looks good as well. I'd never heard of it, but it looks great. Near the top of my list of shows to get.
I love both the Vampire Hunter D movies. I haven't watched them for years. About time I loaded them up again.
I couldn't get past the look of the monster in Deathnote. I tried but it's just too ridiculous looking.
Ghost Stories sound good. Is the dub done like Samurai Pizza Cats where the localization team didn't even know what the source material said?
I really enjoyed Irresponsible Captain Tylor too. It's a great series that everyone should see.
Record of Lodoss War, I liked what I got to see of it, but never got to see them all. The Lodoss Island bits at the end were fun.
Scrapped Princess - I watched a few episodes, but never got into it. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance.
Chrono Crusade looks great. I was wondering where those characters came from. I'll definitely watch it soon.
Panda Z the Robonimation is awesome. "Do not eat batteries!" "Batteries are not food!".
Gunparade March didn't quite do it for me. I never finished watching it.
Lupin the Third is great. I watched it years ago and loved it.
The Gundam series is too big for me to get into.
Blood + looks like exactly what I am looking for. It's the first one I'm gonna get.
Shana looks good. I'll add it to the list.
I was planning to get Outlaw Star a while back. I hear it's kinda like Cowboy Bebop. Must've just slipped my mind. Thanks for reminding me about it.
Gunsmith Cats is the first anime VHS I ever bought. My favorite series! I have all the Manga except Burst, VHS and DVDs. Riding Bean is equally awesome.
@Gamerforlife I love all your suggestions. I fully enjoyed them all. I enjoyed the first Slayers series and OAVs, tho I haven't seen any of the others.
LOL @ Queens Blade. Sure I'll give it a try. That's an amazing ammount of fan service. Looks like Eiken with swords.
Iria is great, loved it. I even downloaded the live action film.
Masamune Shirrow's my favorite Manga artist, so I have all his stuff I could find. I like the first Tank Police anime way better than the second. Black Magic M66 is also awesome.
I've wanted to see Roujin Z for a long time, I should borrow it from my cousin.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes - I think I saw one of these on Satellite over 15 ago. I love 80's anime and this looks really great. Thanks!
I don't like Tenchi Muyo or Ah! My Goddess. Just not my thing.
Saint Seiya! I forgot all about it. I love the character designs.
@Zeonik Freak - I watched all of those and they're all awesome. I should grab the 2nd Kenshin. Goku Mignight Eye's the one with the naked motorcycle robot girl, right?
I thought Bubblegum Crisis was so awesome and then I watched the first. It's even better!
Space Adventure Cobra? Awesome, didn't know it existed.
Trinity Blood looks great and Berserk was really enjoyable.
Macross is one I never watched for some reason. I'll have to fix that. Macross Super Dimension for PS2 is awesome.

It might've. The anime absolutely bombed in Japan, so the dubbers were able to do whatever they wanted with it.

It's good enough that I'm considering getting the full set of 20 episodes, even though they're free on YouTube.

A couple of my favorites that you didn't list:

Witch Hunter Robin (26 episodes)
Wolf's Rain (30 episodes)
Blood + (50 episodes)
Samurai Champloo (26 episodes)
Blue Gender (26 episodes)
FLCL (6 episodes)
Gilgamesh (26 episodes - I think)
Paranormal Agent (Can't remember how long this one is, think it was short)
Big O (2 seasons, probably 26 episodes or so each)
Reign the Conqueror (From the creator of Aeon Flux, everyone hates this, but me... most likely because I am a history buff and it is a retelling of the Alexander the Great story)

Aside from these my favorites are:
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Full Metal Alchemist
Ghost in the Shell
Hellsing
Evengelion
Eureka

Some movies that everyone should see:
Akira
Karas: The Prophecy and The Revelation (you must watch these two together as the second explains all the confusing aspects of the first)
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke (Hope I spelled that right)
Any other movie by Myazaki
Steam Boy
Metropolis
The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Or something like that)

I'm watching Eden of the East. And so far I think it's quite good. Reminds me of Bourne at first in a weird comical way.
Thanks everyone...
